About the case of destruction flags being demolished after a nichiasa loving otaku was reincarnated as a villainous student – Chapter 98 – Side: Main characters (The boy who stuck to his solo play)

“Well then, let’s take down that monster and get that reward and favorability!”

At night, a little far away from the barn Yuugo and the others were using as a base, Isaac, the young man clad in black, waited for something.

The way he was dressed let him blend into the darkness of the night, and that combined with the Covert skill, meant he was practically invisible.

He casually stretched as he spoke in a very optimistic way, and then turned his eyes to where the guards had taken position.

“Nice job. Not that it matters, because I’m gonna end everything by myself!”

He figured that the guards had probably caught on to the fact that the skeleton horse was not the culprit of the attack on the horses, and took up defensive positions in a hurry.

Surely they had already started to figure out that the skeleton horse was one of the victims of that incident.

In Luminous History, if the skeleton horse was not taken down, it would be discovered that it was very docile, and turned into a normal horse when not under the light of the sun.

Conversely, if the skeleton horse was finished off, the real attackers would assault nearby villages and farms, and the major damage caused would be known a few days later… That was how the story forked.

Basically, if the skeleton horse was defeated while everyone still thought it was the culprit, the guards would assume they had taken out the dangerous monster, and would be late in dealing with the real attacker.

In any case there was very little demerit to the main character in terms of favorability. In fact, it mostly just left a bad aftertaste. But since Isaac cared little for mob characters he did not know, even that bad aftertaste would not manifest itself.

That meant defeating the skeleton horse was no problem, but… He changed his plans a little after meeting Angel.

“The monster I’m fighting here isn’t too favorable for me as I am right now, but… It’ll be fine.”

Needless to say, since Isaac had played the game before, he knew the real culprit.

Bull Golem… The name of the monster armor beast players had to face to get the good ending of this scenario.

It was a combination of Minotaur and Golem. As one might expect, it was a muscle-head that specialized in physical attacks.

It had high stamina, offensive power, and defensive power, so it could be called a tough enemy at the start of the game, and one that caused a lot of players trouble.

Isaac was actually one of them, and his play style was actually not very compatible with the Bull Golem.

He used twin swords, weapons that had low attack power, but compensated for that with their rapid attacks.

Since the Bull Golem specialized in physical attacks and defense, light attacks dealt basically no damage, even if it was slashed with full power.

That was why he did not want to fight this boss, but… He was also confident he would not lose if push came to shove.

(I have higher stats than normal people because I was reincarnated, and aptitude for my weapons. This should be easier than in the game.)

It should be stressed that Isaac and the other reincarnated students started out with higher stats and highest rank aptitude for their weapons of choice.

This was an opponent he managed to defeat in normal play, so surely he would have less trouble defeating it now that he was even stronger.

And so, Isaac took position where the monster would come from, and waited.

In the meantime, he thought about how he would be praised as a hero after defeating the monster armor beast.

He would defeat a terrifying Bull Golem all on his own. The guards would surely be surprised when he dragged its corpse to them.

Even Yuugo, who showed up for some reason, and Angel, who accompanied him, would also be surprised. And after performing this great deed, Yuugo was bound to look at him with respect and envy.

Angel’s favorability would skyrocket. She would take an interest in him, and even speak to him. And then, he would take the reward and use it to make a request for a weapon, deepen their relationship, and use the huge chest hidden under that jumpsuit to perform ‘maintenance’ on his body…

“Dyufuh! Dyufufufufu…!!”

Isaac let out a creepy laugh, not unlike Zenon’s.

He put on the front that was a desire to be a hero, but stayed true to his desires… That was the true, unchanging nature of Usaou Aritou.

He continued to laugh as he indulged in his delusions, but turned his head when he sensed a presence and felt the earth rumbling.

The Bull Golem was finally there… So he grabbed the twin swords on his back, and got ready to fight.

(I’ll start the fight by attacking its back and dealing a lot of damage. That thing’s a muscle-brain, so if I keep moving and don’t let it hit me… Uh?)

He simulated the fight in his head, but suddenly felt something was off.

The rumbling that signaled the Bull Golem was approaching… Felt bigger than usual.

It was his first time seeing the monster in that fashion, so he figured maybe it was just in his head.

But Isaac still had a bad feeling about this, and when he got a good look at the approaching monster…

“…Ha?”

There were three Bull Golems in a line, running towards him.
