I take Gyes back home, where an anxious looking Sakuya is waiting.
“Big brother…”
“Sakuya… Sorry!”
Says Gyes, and he vigorously lowers his head.
Sakuya was worried about what he was going to say, so this sudden action leaves her with her eyes wide open.
“I didn’t think about how you felt, and just pushed what I thought on you! I’m the big brother, so I shouldn’t say no without hearing what you have to say!”
“H-hum, please raise your head!”
Sakuya rushes towards Gyes, and pushes her shoulders to try to raise his head. But of course, the difference in their strength means he doesn’t budge.
I get how he feels, but this is going nowhere like this.
“Gyes, listen to her. You need to raise your head and look at Sakuya.”
“Ah… Hm.”
I guess he realizes that what he’s doing contradicts what he’s saying, and he finally raises his head.
“You never listen to me, big brother.”
“Oh, ah, hum…”
“You keep going out to fight and don’t do anything at home.”

Sakuya looks sulky while letting out what’s been bothering her, and Gyes keeps shrinking back more and more.
I feel like not everything there is related to this situation, but it’s all about love and respect.
Gyes is looking at me like he wants help, but this is between brother and sister, so…
“Reina, let’s go get Snow.”
“Yes.”
“Ah, big bro! And big sis!?”
“Big brother, I’m not done yet!”
“Ah, yes.”
Gyes tries to stop us from leaving, but settles down after Sakuya interjects.
“Reflect a little Gyes, and listen to Sakuya.”
We leave Gyes, who looks like he really wants to follow us, and go to Merlin’s place.
“I feel kind of bad for him.”
“It’s fine. Sakuya is the type to keep things bottled in, so she bursts sometimes.”
“True.”
We knock on the door, and Merlin answers.
“Oh? Is it over already?”
“Sakuya is letting it all out on Gyes right now.”
“I see, so it went well.”
She says while letting us inside.
I’m a bit nervous, because Tiltue comes here all the time, but I don’t come in here too often.
It’s not a big house, because Merlin lives here alone, so we reach the living room right away.
There I see Snow lying on the carpet, with her head on Edinburgh’s lap.
“So Snow fell asleep.”
“Yes. She was playing hard.”
“Thank you for playing with her.”
“Don’t worry about it. Apparently I’m not bad with kids.”
She says while gently stroking the sleeping Snow’s face.
But Reina is standing next to me with an expression that shows mixed feelings. This is too different from the person she knows.
She was like this when I met her, so if anything, it’s the way that the other seven great mages talk about her like she’s a tyrant that feels odd to me.
Edinburgh looks at us, and motions for me to get closer.
“What is it?”
“…How about you two leave Snow with me a bit longer and go out on a little rendezvous together?”
She says close to me, so Reina doesn’t hear.
“Rendezvous… That’s a pretty old expression.”
“Hn? Is it?”
She says, but then I notice that since their language is automatically translated to me, it might not be strange to her.
Come to think of it, everything I hear is their language, and their tone of voice just matches.
It’s way too late to be thinking about this though.
It’s been working out well since I got here, so it’s probably not going to be a problem.
“Nevermind, it’s probably just me.”
“I see. So what do you say?”
“Then…”
I look at Reina, who is fidgeting a little.
It’s not as bad as those two, but I feel like Reina and I haven’t had the chance to take it easy and talk by ourselves lately.
“I’ll take you up on your offer.”
“All right.”
I turn to Reina, tell her about us going out together, and she looks at Snow.
She’s sleeping peacefully, and doesn’t show any sign that she’ll wake up soon.
And even if she did, Edinburgh and Merlin are here.
“…Yes.”
Her face looks a little flushed, and she responds meekly, which is unlike her.
That’s cute in its own way, so it leaves me a little embarrassed too.
