“Hikari, did you know more monsters were about to spawn?”
Asks Rurika after all the monsters are down.
There was that first time when one appeared behind her, but Hikari easily avoided numerous monsters that appeared in blind spots, and used them to take out other monsters.
“Yes. That’s why I led them like that.”
She says, very casually, and tells us why she knew.
“You read their presences?”
“Yes. I knew the moment they’d appear. It was the same on the other floors.”
In a way, that was a blind spot on my part. All this time, I didn’t use Presence Detection, Magic Energy Detection, or even Map, because I knew where monsters would spawn, even if I didn’t know when.
I could just see it.
“I see. Then I’ll try to detect their presences too.”
“I recommend it, but be careful. You need to get a grip on the scope.”
When you’re as strong as Hikari, you can look for presences in the whole room, but if she uses her skill to look in the whole room, she’ll get overloaded with information.
“So narrow down the scope… It sounds like it will be hard until I get used to it.”
“And you need to be careful not to let that take your attention too much.”
Yes, if you’re fighting a monster and notice more are spawning around you, you might neglect to pay enough attention to the enemy in front of you.
“But you took down minotaurs without trouble too, Rurika.”
“Not as easily as Sera, but I think it’s because I’m putting what Geitz taught me to use. Like how to receive attacks. He taught me a lot about how to let that power pass by me.”
She says, and happily gestures what she did. She’s just really happy she saw results.
And I see that despite mainly using a shield, Geitz can teach how to use a sword too.
After a small break, we head to the sixty-sixth floor, where Rurika and I use Presence Detection like Rurika said.
I can narrow the scope with no problem, but Rurika has trouble. It’s probably because it has small differences compared to her enemy search skills. Also, the fact that I learned it with skill points probably matters too. And having multiple skills.
I use it right away while fighting minotaurs, and because of that, Sera and Kaina are looking after Chris and Mia.
I face a minotaur and swing my sword, and when it clashes with its axe, I’m not overpowered.
In fact, when I focus my strength, I send its weapon flying. And when its posture crumbles, I quickly execute another attack, and safely put it down.
Then I try a few more things, and notice something. If I use Presence Detection, it’s like there’s a barrier around me. I can react quickly if I’m attacked, but if I use Space-Time Magic the moment something enters this barrier, its movements are slowed, and I can use that time to face it.
The only flaw is that Space-Time Magic uses a lot of MP, but I can take down most opponents without Space-Time Magic, with my current physical abilities. And I have Parallel Thinking.
I also try Magic Energy Detection, and notice that it senses monsters spawning faster.
When I tell that to Chris, she uses the power of the spirits to see where magic energy is trembling, and fires magic before minotaurs even spawn. That means she can make them vanish as soon as they appear.
Again, the drawback is that it spends a lot of magic energy, so she needs mana potions to keep using it.
“Chris, keep doing the same as always.”
Says Rurika.
We’re going to be fighting minotaurs until the seventieth floor, so we all think we should get used to them. That’s why Mia also grabs her staff tighter, wanting to fight too.
She’s been supporting everyone with Holy Arrow, but there hasn’t been time for her to actually face one. But she gets near one, and takes it down.
It feels like she isn’t weaker than them, but it took her some time because she’s using a staff. It can be used as a blunt weapon, but it lacks that killing potential.
A specialized staff could work well for her, but I don’t have any of that in my Item Box, and she doesn’t have any staff skills anyway, so I think she needs to practice more if she’s going to fight with it.
And after eventually reaching the sixty-fifth floor, we return to the inn.

Sigh. After binging again I’ve caught up again.
Thanks for the treat, and have a nice weekend.
