“I don’t think a long name would be a problem. In fact, I think there’s more majesty to it.”
“The official names of some countries I know are too long to remember. Although I don’t know if they still exist.”
Say Freinet and Wea.
Wea mentions the names of countries she knows, but that was a long time ago.
A country disappearing is one of those things I have trouble imagining. But even Rezzed is basically gone, now that its people are coming here.
I feel like Wea knows a lot of history, from living so long, but she was also asleep for a long time.
“I see. Maybe if we are accepted as a country, and we learn about countries that are really far away and we don’t even know they’re there, we can learn what happened to those other countries.”
I say with a smile, and Wea laughs too.
Countries really far away… And the people that live in them.
How will this place look when we talk to them? It’s fun to imagine.
“The name… Beast people like Gaius, spirits and elves, Phyto’s people, Mister Villa’s people, the gryphons… People from Rezzed too. Yes, we should include them all. Maybe we should look into a word that means there are lots of races…”
I would like it if there were elements of all peoples.
I don’t want anyone to be left out, but we might have people of more races coming here too. Hm… Then it would be hard. What should we do?
“Landouno has a lot of books, so there might be something useful there.”
“It would be nice if there was a good word. We might as well find something that fits and you won’t regret later.”
They say with smiles.
“It would be nice if it showed you two are here too.”
“That’s not necessary.”
“If we are not in the name, we could be in the flag instead.”
Flag? Yes, countries don’t just have names, they have that sort of symbol too. That makes me feel like if we’re thinking about a name, there’s lots of stuff to consider.
What kind of symbols do other countries have?
Thinking about marks that represent different races makes me feel like that could work. Putting stuff like that together could be useful. And fun.
There should be a book with that sort of information.
“A flag goes on top of a castle, right? I feel like I saw that in Migha.”
I say, thinking back to when I was there.
Yes, there was one raised at the highest point of a big castle. I’ve only been thinking about the castle and the name, but I should think about that too.
But I have to talk about that with everyone.
I look at Freinet and Wea.
“What?”
Asks Freinet.
“The country’s symbol could be spirits like you two, or the spirit tree where spirits live. Spirits are cute, so it would look cute.”
“I’m glad you think we’re cute, but you should stay away from that.”
“Why?”
I don’t know what Wea means.
Looking at cute things makes people feel nice and peaceful, and that’s nice. Is that a problem for a country?
“There’s no gravity in cuteness. Remember what Shuongalve said? Others should feel like this is not an easy place to invade. If you depict us spirits, there’s bound to be people who think this is an easy target.”
“I guess… But then, you know… What about Mister Douroean?”
“I think that’s better. Dragons are nice and threatening. But we could talk about it with the others and maybe depict us anyway. Maybe we could do something about the way it’s drawn.”
Says Wea, and I agree.
I’ve experienced lots of things, and I’m able to think about a lot more things than before. But still, I’m still just one person, so there’s a lot I can’t do on my own.
But if we’re going for something cool, it could be Gaius’ wolf form too.
Yes, let’s keep that in mind too when I talk to everyone.
