This beast person adventurer notices us, glares, and speaks with a rough tone.
“You were in the guild yesterday… In the waiting room of the dungeon!”
That threatening attitude makes me nod without thinking, and then…
“I knew it! You were the ones talking all rude to my bro Shun!”
I don’t know what he’s on about at first. I guess we did talk to Shun too, not just Naoto, but we spoke normally.
This adventurer looks like he’s going to jump at us at any moment, but his friends hold him back and apologize.
“Sorry, he was moved by Shun’s match with the beast king. It probably didn’t sit well with him how casually you were talking to Shun.”
Says another beast person with a sigh.
“Put some respect to Shun’s name!”
He yells, this time at his teammate.
Elsa and Alto are scared, and hide behind me.
“You idiot. You’re scaring them.”
His party mercilessly hits him to shut him up.
Is he all right? That was a really dull sound.
“Hey, if you’re going to make a mess, go somewhere else. You’re bothering the other customers.”
We end up being shown the door… And go somewhere else.
We head to the adventurer guild, because talking in the middle of the street would be a bother too, and we were going there anyway.
“Sorry.”
Says Reid, the leader of the party Agito.
They’re B ranks, and are apparently also challenging the dungeon.
The one making a ruckus is called Sai, and according to Reid, he’s a good guy at heart, but has a sharp tongue.
Apparently he became fascinated by Shun after watching the match with the beast king.
“He was actually talking trash about Shun after losing in the preliminaries, but became his fan after Shun kept winning.”
Says Reid with an awkward smile.
“By the way, how do you know Shun?”
“…We came from the same place. And we traveled together, I guess.”
Sai looks surprised to hear this, and shaken. And I make sure he apologizes to Elsa and Alto.
“These two are very important to someone who is like Shun’s big sister.”
There’s not a lie in there.
Shizune dotes on them a lot, so if they complain about Sai to her, she might start seeing red. Or obliterate Sai if she’s in a bad mood.
Sai apologizes, making me feel like he really is a good person deep down.
We keep chatting on the way to the adventurer guild, and Naoto’s party just happens to be coming out of the dungeon.
Naoto tries to raise his hand, but he’s pushed aside by someone rushing this way. Reid and the others are surprised, but Shizune rushes past them and hugs Elsa and Alto.
Both are used to this, and don’t resist.
Elsa and Alto are pretty fond of Shizune too, since she’s upfront with her affection.
“Are you okay?”
“Y-yes. That Shizune never… Nevermind, I’m actually surprised she changed like this… Who are these people?”
“We met in a weapons shop. And apparently we have a big fan of Shun here.”
I go to introduce Sai… Who’s hiding behind Reid.
Where’s that attitude from before?
Sai starts peeking over Reid’s shoulder at Shun, who’s talking with Miharu.
“That one uh?”
Naoto also sees Sai’s eyes are on Shun, and grins when I nod.
“Shun, come here.”
Naoto calls out to him, and Shun tilts his head while doing as he says.
Sai gets progressively more nervous the closer he gets, and Reid and the others sigh.
Apparently the same thing happened yesterday when Sai saw Shun up close.
“What is it?”
“Your match yesterday got you a fan.”
Says Naoto, and Sai stands up straight and greets Shun with a tense tone of voice.
“I’m pretty sure we fought in the preliminaries…”
Shun is confused by Sai’s attitude, but Sai is just happy that Shun remembers, and gets even more nervous with even more stilted speech.
“What are you guys up to anyway? You didn’t come to the dungeon with Elsa and Alto, right?”
“We’re buying materials and magic stones. And I want to stop by the merchant guild.”
“Are you looking for something?”
“It’d be great if I could find the pelt of a superior species of wolf… A wind wolf if possible. And magic stones.”
This is to make leather that boosts agility with the Creation skill.
In the end, I don’t have any luck in the adventurer guild, so we leave for the merchant guild.
And for some reason Naoto and Reid’s parties are now tagging along.
Reid and the others aren’t planning to go to the dungeon today, and Kaede says we might as well take the opportunity to hang out.
And since we also meet Siphon and the others on the way out of the adventurer guild, we’ve got quite the group right now.
