I hear a deep sigh next to me.
“You worry too much.”
I say.
“Aren’t you worried, Sora?”
Shun is worried because it’s been ten days since Leight and the others went to investigate the forest. It’s been like this for the last seven days.
I’m not that worried, because they were ready to camp, and I heard from Siphon and the others that they were going on an excursion.
I would be worried if it was just Hikari and the others, but Siphon’s party is with them. That’s how much I trust Siphon.
Argo… I know he’s great, but I can’t get the image I got from him back when I was an adventurer in Elesya out of my mind. All he did was hit on girls.
“There’s no use in getting worried now. And if they know you’re being listless over that, they might complain at you.”
“He’s right Shun. Focus on what you’re doing.”
I agree with the upset Heine, and Shun focuses.
Yep, it’s the same as always. Haine is smiling awkwardly too.
We keep smithing until it’s time for lunch, and Mia and Chris drop by with boxed lunches.
Ryuryu is with them today. Mia and Chris have been coming here to bring me lunch every day, other than the day they met Nell.
“It’s good to be you, uh Sora?”
I feel like I hear Shun say something.
“So, how are you doing?”
“I think I’ve gotten a lot better, thanks to Haine and the others.”
“Yes, they’re both good.”
Says Haine while puffing out his chest a bit, but Darc gets mad and says we still have a long way to go.
But yes, Haine is a good teacher, and I feel like it’s incredible how the proficiency of my Blacksmith skill goes up when I just listen to him and put what he says to practice.
He’d probably say no, but I’m sure Darc knows how good Heine is too.
I’m sure he can tell how much Heine has grown by watching him teach two complete amateurs like us. Well, at least that’s what I think.
“Let’s get the afternoon work started!”
Our lunch break is over, so Mia and the others leave.
Apparently people from the village have been teaching them cooking, and they’ve also been teaching the villagers their own cooking techniques and dishes.
◇ ◇ ◇
When I’m focused on working, I feel like time flies. And then the moment I swing the hammer one last time and finish up, the exhaustion hits me all at once.
I recover quickly if I rest, thanks to Natural Recovery Boost, but in the meantime, it’s hard to even stand.
Potions won’t help with that, so all I can really do is wait.
It’s different if I walk, but I want to be a bit conscientious. This place isn’t that big, so if I walk around, I’m bound to bother people.
“Hn… I can’t really make something I’m happy with.”
Complains Shun.
I think he’s a lot better compared to when he started, but he’s not satisfied.
Heine is also impressed, so I’m thinking maybe Shun is just a perfectionist.
“Haine, can I strengthen the sword I just made?”
Asks Shun after placing the sword down, but Heine looks confused.
“What are you talking about?”
Asks Darc as he walks over to us, so Shun asks again.
“Strengthen a sword that’s done? Nah. By the time you’re hammering it, you already have ore and magic stones mixed up. Even if you try to redo it, you’re not going to get anything better. If anything, it’ll be worse.”
“Really? I guess it’s not like in games?”
He whispers.
“Hn? Games? What’s that?”
Asks Darc, who heard Shun.
Shun looks like he messed up for a moment, but then gives up and talks about our old world.
“Hmhm, that’s not possible. I’ve never even heard of such a thing. Strengthening a weapon like that is no good, but you can make it stronger.”
“Is that true, master?”
“Yes! But I’ve only seen it once in my long life.”
Says Darc while looking at us in turn.
“When was it… It was before I came to this village. An adventurer came into town when I was working as a blacksmith, and asked to tend to his weapons and equipment.
And like young Shun here said, that weapon had a level on it.”
Darc has the Appraisal skill, and when he used it to see the condition of the sword, he saw there was a level next to its name.
“I think it was… Fire dragon sword level two?”
It was his first time seeing that, so he figured that was probably just part of his name. But after hearing Shun’s explanation, he’s now wondering if that adventurer strengthened his sword.
Also, that wasn’t the first fire dragon sword he saw, but that one was much better than others of the same type.
“At the time, I thought the blacksmith that made it must’ve been really good.”

Thanks for the treat.
