Walking in another world – Chapter 574 – Lifting the curse – Part one

The barrier has been successfully raised, so we go see how Mia is doing.

She’s in a building allotted to us, with Hikari, Miharu, and Shun sitting next to her.

Did she do it? I don’t see any giants.

As I get closer, I see she looks serious.

“What’s wrong?”

“Ah, Sora? I used Recovery, but it didn’t feel like it worked, or like it cured them. Can you cast Appraisal and check?”

When she says that, I realize I haven’t cast it since I got here.

“I guess I could try…”

“Then let me call someone…”

“Ah, I’ll go.”

Mia gets up to go call a villager, but Shun goes out instead.

He looks pretty enthusiastic. Did something happen?

Not long after, he comes back with two giants, who I thank for coming here, before casting Appraisal.

Appraisal doesn’t show me anything, but when I use Analysis on top of it, it does show ‘fairy curse’.

“I see the curse.”

“Thank you. Then let me cast Recovery.”

She says, and when she casts it, the giant’s body is covered in light that disappears soon after.

I cast Appraisal again, and see ‘fairy’s curse’ is gone.

Miharu then casts Recovery on the other giant, but that one still has the curse.

She looks disappointed, and Shun tries his best to console her.

Mia then casts Recovery again, which erases the curse status, but she frowns.

“What?”

“It still doesn’t feel like they’re healed. I don’t know how to explain it, it’s just a feeling.”

“That feeling is important. Master, are they really healed?”

Asks Hikari, but after I cast Appraisal again, it shows me the same thing.

“The fairy’s curse is stubborn. We should keep an eye on them. I’m sure Mia’s instincts are right.”

Says Kaina after hearing our back and forth, and we decide to keep them under watch.

But for now, we go tell the elder how things are going. This might take a while, so we want to negotiate Leight and the others being able to go back to the village, along with Argo and the others.

Ryuryu might get impatient if we take too long, so I think she’ll feel better if we tell her what we’re doing.

But the elder doesn’t look happy when we say we need to report on what we’re up to. I can feel that he’s worried about the existence of this village being made known to the outside world.

In the end, Kaina convinces him, and the fact that the barrier is back up helps.

◇ ◇ ◇

“All right, We will tell Ryuryu.”

We ask Leight to tell Ryuryu we’re staying here for a while, to lift the curse.

And we make sure to tell him to inform the others not to get close to this place.

The villagers are asked to stay inside while Leight and the others leave, so it’s completely quiet now.

The ones going back to Fuxto for now are the beast people like Leight, Argo’s party, and Naoto and Kaede.

Goblin’s Grief is staying, so we can make sure the curse has been lifted. This means they’re going to be restricted while staying here, but they gladly accept.

Shun is staying because Miharu is staying, and Kotori is staying because she wants to let Naoto and Kaede be alone.

“And what should we do if the curse comes back?”

“Make something that strengthens the effect of Recovery. And by that, I mean you should make it, Sora.”

Says Mia, and I check the list in the Alchemy and Creation skills.

Some of the disposable items need to be made by her, like holy water. We’re going to need a lot, so I think we also need Miharu’s help.

Ah, but I want stuff like laurel tree fruit… I would have to go back to Altair, but should I take Hikari this time?

After thinking about it, I leave a Transfer magic item with Rurika, and go to Altair with Hikari, Shun, Miharu, and Kotori. They say they want to see it.

It would be nice if they had a stock of laurel tree fruit, but I guess I can go pick it too.

I can walk by myself, use Transfer, and run with a golem wagon.

I feel like Sirk might catch Hikari and try to keep her with him when we go to the dungeon, but Mia is busy, and Chris and the others are looking after Goblin’s Grief.

We’re planning to come back right away, but still.

“Well then, look after things here.”

“Yes, and you look after Sora, Hikari.”

“Leave it to me.”

I see Hikari is more reliable in their eyes than me.

We leave the rest to Mia and Miharu, and Transfer to Altair.
