Walking in another world – Chapter 580 – Fors dungeon – Part fourteen

The sneak attack from behind hits the king minotaur.

Rurika swings her twin swords, Hikari thrusts with her dagger, Kaina with her spear, and Sera cuts down with her axes.

The only one that gets through is Sera’s, the other three are blocked by the magic energy.

They all infused their weapons with magic energy, but the king minotaur swings its axe like it’s swatting them out of its way.

They all hurry to get away, and I move to attack now that it’s distracted.

I infuse the mithril sword with magic energy, and use Sword Slash.

It notices my attack and tries to dodge, but I’m faster.

My sword hits, but it’s like it’s crashing against something hard.

But I do feel it breaking through the magic energy, and deal a bit of damage… That’s soon healed.

“Sora!”

I hear Chris, and jump back like I’m being flung away. And then, the king minotaur’s body is covered in flames.

The high temperature burns its face. It’s so hot, and I hear a howl from the flames.

After a while, the fire goes out, and I see the king minotaur’s body smoking.

The surface of its skin is burned, but it’s gradually healing.

It’s not down yet, but I can feel it lost a lot of magic energy.

If attacking it saps its magic energy, then we might be able to take it down if we just keep at it.

Right after I think that, the king minotaur shakes its head, and yells as it turns to Chris, as if recognizing her power.

Did the high firepower draw its aggro? Or is it just seeing her as a threat? Either way, it’s clear she’s its target.

I immediately try to draw its attention with Provoke, but it doesn’t work.

Once it takes a step towards Chris, the others notice it and attack it, but it ignores them as it charges towards Chris.

I won’t make it on time either from where I’m standing.

I could use Transfer to get there, but I wouldn’t be in a position to block its attack.

Still, that’s better than standing here, so I use Transfer just as it gets near her and swings its axe.

One of its blades was melted by the fire, but the other one is fine.

If that hits her, it will be fatal for sure.

I immediately hold up my shield, but since Chris is too close, I can’t brush it off in an ideal direction.

My position is less than perfect too, so I don’t even know how well I’ll block it.

Still, it’s all I can do.

I’m ready to take the attack, but it never comes. Kaina is between me and the king minotaur.

She has her shield up, and she blocked the attack.

Her body is enveloped in light because Mia cast support magic on her.

In that small window where Kaina blocks the attack, Rurika and Hikari both use their skills, aiming for the monster’s legs.

The king minotaur lets out a shriek and loses its balance, leading to its next slash hitting the ground.

Kaina jumps back when she sees this, but the momentum leads to her dropping her shield.

No. The hand that was holding it crumbled.

Hikari and Rurika are also stepping back, deciding they shouldn’t use their skills continuously.

The king minotaur comes to attack again, but they bought me enough time to stand ready.

Kaina steps back along with Chris, and I step forward to attack.

This time, my slash cuts deep. The monster’s magic energy is clearly weaker, after Chris’ magic and Rurika and Hikari’s attacks.

I slash again, but despite it not acting at all defensively until now, it dodges and puts some distance between us.

But it’s jumping to where Sera is waiting, and she swings with all her strength.

The king minotaur’s unguarded back is slashed, and it yells while falling forward.

The pain twists its face, and I see anger in its eyes, but I ignore that and attack.

This slash meets no resistance, as the king minotaur’s head is cut, and its body disappears before it hits the ground.

◇ ◇ ◇

“How is Kaina?”

“Her body is all right, but I think she needs some time.”

I answer Rurika’s question.

Kaina’s arm was destroyed, but it’s a golem body, so it can be repaired.

But when I repair it, she feels like something’s off about her movements.

It looks like it’s going to take some time for her to move like before.

“And over there?”

“King meat!”

Looks like we got king meat from the treasure chest.

I feel like the further up we go, the easier it is to get meat, and the harder it is to get anything else.

Maybe we’re just not lucky, but most of us are happy with that.

Hikari is the happiest, but Mia is pretty happy too. She’s looking forward to cooking something good.

“What now?”

“Argo and the others aren’t here, so we could go to Eliana’s place.”

I promised to do that when I went there to get Calotos.

We’re taking a break from the dungeon tomorrow anyway, so we might as well.

I also want to check out information about the seventy-first floor. With the Memory skill, I can remember everything in there, so we might be able to talk strategy too.
