Level Gacha ~ It turns out the dump stat 『Luck』 is the most important – Roll 129 – Big congestion

Like before, the person standing guard lets us through, and we start hunting scissor crabs on the eastern beach.

I had an easy time before, when I used the bow, but I’m fighting with swords this time.

The scissor crabs’ shells are as hard as they look, but they’re easily split in two by my mithril sword and my strength.

I feel like a steel weapon would bounce off… Good thing we bought expensive things.

Despite me not being used to this footing, my stats and skills help me reach a hundred soon enough. And I also use swords to fight the Death Crab that spawns after that.

【Level up】

【Leveled up from seven to forty-five】

I went up from three to seven fighting the scissor crabs, which held back the low level compensation a little, but I still make it to forty-five.

However, the knight doesn’t spawn. I guess it’s not a sure thing even at two thousand Luck.

“It’s not coming…”

“It really is strict. It makes sense that there were never any sightings.”

“We cannot see the smoke that comes with rare monsters like you do, master. Someone unqualified will not make it spawn no matter how much they hunt.

If it is as master theorized, only someone specialized may see these monsters. And in this area, only master gets to experience this, lady.”

“Yes, we really are getting to experience something precious.”

“Don’t be so formal.”

“Ah, hehehe, darling~.”

I pat Ayane’s head, and check the map.

Like before, the Death Crab spawned where I took down the hundredth monster. I think it’s safe to assume that the different areas on this floor are the different beaches.

“All right, let’s keep going to the south. Ayane, while we’re at it, can you blast the weak monsters with magic on the way there?”

“Leave it to me! Wind Storm!”

The force of the wind catches the scissor crabs in its path and turns them into smoke.

This spell is stronger the closer to its center something is, and weaker the further away. Because of this, some of the monsters on the outer edges aren’t completely defeated, and that causes a chain reaction that brings even more monsters than she took down.

“Hawawa, this is bad!”

“Calm down. They’re slow, so there’s still plenty of time to attack with magic. Let’s see… How about shooting two times, left and right? If it looks dangerous, we’ll jump in.”

“Y-yes! Wind Storm!!”

Ayane calms down, and we get a front row seat of the sight of her blowing away a lot of scissor crabs. There are pretty much no drops, but it looks fun.

I can’t do that, because of Elemental Magic. I can’t learn the regular version of magic and use a big area of effect attack…

◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇

“The south looks the same.”

“Yes, but it is quite dangerous with all the monsters bunched together.”

Aira says while carrying Ayane on her back.

Ayane spent a lot of magic energy shooting spells all over the place, so she’s exhausted. Well, she never gets the chance to fire more than a spell here and there.

“I feel like it would be more dangerous to fire magic here like I did before…!”

“You say that, but you handled all of them.”

“That’s… Because you were watching over me.”

“Don’t be so modest. You’re growing. Be prouder.”

“Really?”

“Yes. Don’t you think so too, Aira?”

“Yes. You are indeed growing, lady. There will come a day when you surpass them.”

“…! I-I’ll do my best!”

Them? I’m kind of curious about who they mean, but let’s leave that for later.

“Let’s start hunting.”

“Yes.”

“Go for it darling!”

◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇

After taking down a hundred scissor crabs and the Death Crab that follows, the Shell Knight still doesn’t appear, and I don’t level up either.

But then another problem appears.

I want to go west next, but the groups of monsters really are abnormal.

There were some with about twenty monsters on the eastern side, but that wasn’t the norm. Over there, groups had about six or seven monsters, but here, they have more than thirty. This means they’re actually overlapping, and it’s a big mess.

It would be bad if Ayane blew them away, but if I go at it and a Death Crab spawns in the middle of that, it wouldn’t be good either. And it would be a vision of hell if a Shell Knight spawned.

Maybe we should go back and enter the western side from the north.

“We have to retreat for now. They’re slow, but it would be bad if they surrounded us when there are this many.”

“It’s vexing that you can’t make a move when you can take them down so easily, darling.”

“I never thought rare monsters could get in the way.”

“Auu… Would it help if I used level six Wind Magic?”

Ayane has grown, and that combined with the golden fruits, means her Intelligence has gone over a thousand. That means she can easily use spells that were restricted by the nine hundred Intelligence barrier, even without Aki and Maki around.

“Cyclone is a powerful spell, but it creates strong winds in a specific area. And since there are enemies all over, you’d have to cast it a lot. Also, I can’t look into it with True Appraisal, so we don’t know how much it takes out of you, but if the level five Wind Storm left you like that after using it continuously, we can only imagine it would be worse.”

“Yes. We also need to be ready for the powered up monster. You should have enough magic energy left for Adamantine Armor.”

“Au…”

I pat Ayane as she looks down.

“By the way, do you think you can use level seven?”

“No… I don’t think so.”

“I see. Then let’s take it slow. Let’s have lunch to the north of the eastern beach.”

“Yes.”

We go back, and eat in the safe area to the east.

The beach hut is full of people, which makes sense since it’s lunch time. We pass by it on the way to the northern beach, and cross it.

There’s another person standing watch by the cave that leads to the western side, so we say hello and talk for a bit.

“Good work out here. I’m Amachi, an A rank adventurer.”

“Thank you. The branch manager told us about you.”

“Hum… Since I’m about to go at it, it would be good if you didn’t let anyone else through, if possible.”

This employee knows about me, so… I’m assuming employees also know I’m hunting rare monsters. And so, I ask this despite knowing it might be too much, just to be safer.

But the employee looks at me with an awkward expression.

“Ah… That wouldn’t be easy.”

“Would that be abusing my privileges as an A rank?”

“No, this branch owes you, so the manager told us to accommodate you whenever possible. And we want to help too, but…”

“Is there a problem?”

“Yes, this is a bad time, because there are already people here…”

“People!?”

There are people crazy enough to hunt here?

Guessing “them” refers to Ayane’s siblings since she’s looked down upon by her family.
