As soon as the battle starts, I fire an Explosion at the fairy dragon, that should be effective against it.
A giant magic circle activates in the air, and the explosion happens below it, where the fairy dragon is.
But this is one of the five great dragons, so it’s left pretty much unscathed. Most of the adventurers shrink back with fear at the pressure it exudes when it leaps from the smoke, and the thirty or so allies we have quickly turn into a screaming mob.
That means I can only count on Iris, Mars, and Lela. Can the four of us do it?
But then, Iris taps my shoulder.
I look at her, and see not fear in her eyes, but clear light.
“Iris?”
“Mister Loyd. I love you most in the whole world.”
“Eh!? W-what’s that all of a sudden? Are you trying to surprise me or something?”
“Fufufu, I felt I had to say it now. You looked worried.”
“!”
“I will be by your side no matter how hard it gets. As a representative of the church of Emeraude, and a woman who loves you, I will fight with you until the end.”
Is it because they are the words of someone who loves me? They echo strongly in my heart.
The next moment, my fear is soothed. I put my hand on her face and caress it, and nod.
“I agree. Let’s fight it together.”
The two of us are fooling around with a battle unfolding.
Lela is going kya kya, and Mars is looking at us with cold exasperated eyes.
It’s not like all my worries about this battle are gone, but I don’t have time to think about that.
We just have to beat it! And make up for what we don’t have with our bond.
I look at them, and the three of them nod.
I cast Full Grow on them, multiplying their magic energy tens of times, and upping their magic and swordsmanship a lot.
We then attack the fairy dragon, with what can be called perfect sync
Mars isn’t as good as Sephilia, but he’s still pretty strong. He rushes the fairy dragon with a speed faster than the eye can see, and delivers an intense strike.
He quickly moves on to the next, and keeps attacking the enemy that’s tens of times bigger than he is.
Each attack is very heavy, and the fairy dragon rolls on the ground like a rag.
Lela isn’t outdone, as she uses wind magic to block its attacks.
Not too long after, the fairy dragon is completely in our control.
I aim at its heart and cast a focused Explosion to finish it off. The narrower area means its power is tens of times greater.
It pierces its armor, and finishes the fairy dragon.
