“Dammit, this really is the worst…! Why did this have to happen to me…!?”
Meanwhile, Shian and Egos, who had left earlier with the guards, finally woke up, and lamented their misfortune.
Shian was very troubled, seemingly in a stupor, while Egos mumbled about his hatred of Yuugo with irritation and anger.
“That scum dared to hit my face…!! A joke villain going against a main character…!!”
“Who cares about that? That old pig took our virginity!”
“Stop! I’m trying not to think of that! Uu, and we protected it so dearly. We were tricked, but we and that dirty hag… Uoeeh!”
Shian and Egos thought back to the important thing they lost, and despair was painted on their faces.
The same went for Shian, but since Egos was really trying to have a happy life in this world, this failure right off the bat dealt considerable damage. And as if to attack them while they were down, a message echoed in their heads.
‘Precia Rice’s scenario is gone. It is impossible to recruit her as an ally.’
““Guuu…!?””
They saw it coming, but being hit with this reality made both grimace and groan.
Neither intended to go after her, but both still felt regret, because Precia was plenty cute compared to Narul. But both shook their heads, looked at each other, and started saying words of encouragement.
“It’s okay, it’s okay. That one didn’t count. What matters is the next one!”
“Y-yes! You’re right, Shian! It starts now! Those girls are introduced in the next scenario!”
They hinted at something they nodded at each other.
It seemed they knew the next scenario, and took aim at the characters that would appear in it.
“They’re all attractive, but who are you after, Shian? We don’t want any overlaps between us, so tell me and no one else! Ah, by the way, I’m going for the one at the top!”
“Well, all three are really popular, so I’d like to have them all… But if I had to say one, it’d be the one at the bottom!”
“Oh! Nice nice! There’s no overlap, so how about we bring in someone else that can have the one in the middle, so we can have a triple alliance? That would put us at an advantage!”
They talked about what was to come, seemingly not having learned at all.
Regardless of their recent failure, their main character charisma would influence students other than the cooking club, and not being able to recruit Precia was not an issue.
There were still plenty of attractive girls to be introduced in Luminous History… So they just had to set their sights on them.
They turned their eyes away from the failure that led to a dark topic, and despite taking significant mental damage, they were pulling themselves together.
They continued talking about characters that would be introduced, and Egos lowered his tone as he asked a question.
“Ah, by the way. Just to be sure, about that character…”
“Ah, yes. I think I know what you’re going to ask, and I’m sure the others would say the same… That character is going to have to die.”
“Of course! Good good! I don’t know what I’d do if you said you wanted to recruit that character!”
Said Egos with a light tone, and both laughed in a carefree way about erasing someone’s fate.
If someone understood what they were talking about, and that they were talking like this about killing a person… No, they would despair even more at the fact that many agreed with them.
“That character’s pretty strong though, easily one of the strongest. But… We’re not going to get what we want if that character’s not out of the picture.”
“There’s no doubt that having this character would make us stronger… But we can’t have someone stronger than us standing out. We’re main characters. We’re the strongest. We can’t have a side character stand out more and be more reliable than us main characters!”
They continued talking, confirming their intentions to cooperate in the future, and discussed their plans.
And then, Egos spoke with a creepy smile.
“Kukuku…! Wasn’t that character’s little sister someone who couldn’t be recruited, but could be conquered? She might become a member of my harem…!”
“Uwah, gross! Think about your age, old man!”
“It’s fine! Games are about doing what you can’t do in reality! Isn’t it fun?”
Their perception stayed the same. This was a game world, and they were its main characters. What was wrong with doing whatever they wanted and having fun? This was a very clear notion to Shian and Egos, and in that way, they were the same as the other reincarnated students.
Yuugo’s idea that these hero prospects who screwed with people’s destinies were worse than the ones causing incidents, seemed to not be wrong at all.
