I got over it.
The morning after my first dungeon adventure, I have meat wrapped onigiri, then gyudon with an egg from Shiguchinoya for lunch, and kalbi along with offal ramen for dinner. The complete lack of rejection to any of it means I’ve overcome it. Meat is very tasty. I think I really might be cut out to be a seeker.
That said, I’m going to stop using the rock shotgun on other organisms. I can use four cannons now, so I’ll go with rock bullets or air bullets.
I also want to store water in the Storage space.
I think my air bullets can take down magic beasts without damaging them too much… But their power drops a lot if I’m not close. If I use water bullets, I might be able to attack from further away without damaging them.
I also prepared something else. I DIY’d two boards with two short sticks that are less than eight centimeters in diameter. I thought of this because I saw I could attach a bicycle seat on a Storage Gate.
After my experiences yesterday, I decided to try to get ether crystals in a smarter way. And I’m going to test it in the dungeon beyond the Yoshikawa Gate today.

Today, I’m going to mine in a place closer to the entrance. Last time, I was careless and let magic beasts approach me, and I’m very scared of losing my concentration. I’m alone, so I have no way to prevent sneak attacks.
The easiest solution would be to join with others, but like my handler said, my stats and skill means I won’t get matches in the party matching application. My Storage cannons are hard to explain, and then there’s my age. Low level seekers tend to be young, so no one will pick one in his thirties.
There are searcher drones that are powered by ether, but those have a starting price of half a million yen. Machines won’t work in dungeons unless specifically treated to do so, and that brings up the prices.
If I could solve this issue with money, a searcher drone could be an option, but it’s out of my reach for now.
There is also the option of taming magic beasts. They can sometimes be tamed and become friends. This is linked to skills, so someone with one skill like me can technically tame one. Although I don’t know what options an all F would have.
In any case, this is no time to think about what ifs, it’s time to harvest.
First, I go deeper, and I reach a somewhat wide space with many crystals on the ceiling.
These ether crystals appear pretty frequently, so a few hours of exploring the rock crystal cave will yield about five or six per person.
But since seekers typically can’t touch the ones on the ceiling, they’re just left there. My goal is to take them for myself. When I used the rock shotgun before, many broke and spilled, and the noise drew kobolds, but today, I’m going up there to get them directly.
I’m using the Storage Gates as footing to climb up there, fixing one in the air, and putting boards on it so I can sit and harvest the ether crystals.
How’s that? Now even an old guy like me can easily take them. Simple, right?
