Dungeon Town, a shopping mall with a variety of goods for seekers.
There are many hazardous materials, and being packed in one place like this makes it easier to deal with if something goes wrong… That is realistically part of its reason for existing, but for a seeker, having everything I need in one place is incredibly convenient.
This was where I bought my beginner’s kit. My eyes are drawn to many things, but I know what I’m here for today. And so, I don’t take any detours, and head to the dungeon mechanics shop.
“Welcome.”
I’m immediately greeted by an employee, but I head straight to the searcher drone corner… Or rather, I start browsing.
Machines that go in the dungeon are typically expensive because they need an anti magic energy shield, but since my life is on the line, I want to purchase what could be useful.
For example, this robot that looks like a horse or a bull. It will follow its owner even on bumpy or uneven roads without falling, and it can carry up to thirty kilos. It costs two million, but apparently it used to cost ten, so it’s pretty cheap now.
I walk a little further, and see a product that’s just the sensor camera that goes on the drones I want to buy. It has three sixty degree vision and multiple sensors, and it can be attached on a helmet, so I start wondering if I should get this instead of the drone.
But it has considerable weight and it might affect my movement, so I give up on it. It might hurt my neck as well.

“Are you looking for something?”
The employee calls out to me again, just at the right time.
“Yes, I want to buy a searcher drone. This type that is attached to a helmet is nice, but I was thinking that something that can move away and see from above would be useful.”
“I see. The helmet type only sees the area near you, and drones have an easier time catching the area around you.”
“I am working as a solo seeker, so I am afraid of magic beasts getting close. I want as much precision as possible.”
“A solo seeker… Then… I know. There aren’t that many options, but if performance is what you want, I recommend a DQI or a high end Parappa.”
“I have heard of both brands. My budget is a million, is that an issue?”
“No, that is enough. You can have a look at this catalog.”
Then I tell the employee what I want as he explains the models to me, and I end up getting a Repop 2 Armed from Parappa.
It’s sold on its sturdiness, and its battery with a mana jewel attachment means if I take turns using my three mana jewels, it will never turn off. Although maintenance is required.
They have them in stock, so I’m taking one to my car. I can’t wait for my next exploration. I just want to leap into the dungeon.
