That night, the reincarnated students were gathered for an emergency meeting to discuss what happened during that day’s test.
They looked back on that event in Luminous history, and seemed bitter at how something changed again.
This test was an event in the game, where it was possible to raise the favorability of the combat miko. The reincarnated students were taking part after having decided who would have Sakura, Setsuna, and Raiha.
For example, since Sakura valued strength, the person going after her would take out as many monsters as possible, to show off to her. The reincarnated students worked to curry favorability in this manner, but could not hide how shaken they were by the sudden rampage of gigantes.
Shian was present when gigantes went wild (although he fainted and could do nothing), so he worried about looking pathetic to the combat miko.
He used his game knowledge to butter up the teacher in charge, Ramy, so he thought he would look good for the combat miko… So he was frustrated, but despite being on the same boat, Egos spoke calmly to the others.
“Well, what’s done is done. It’s probably just a bug, a lingering effect of what Seto (Zenon) did. And Ryuuga and Yuugo took down gigantes to fix the bug. Let’s just go with that.”
“Are you sure we can be that optimistic? It could affect the story again…”
“It’s okay. It’s too late to worry about that, and we could’ve taken down that gigantes if we wanted to. More importantly… It doesn’t matter that the scum teamed up with Ryuuga. Ryuuga’s life is on the palm of the main characters, us.”
Said Shian, after Egos bit back at him.
This nonchalant attitude annoyed Egos, but he had to concede Shian had a point.
Zenon took down Yuugo without waiting for the event, which continued to change Luminous History’s plot.
There was also Isaac’s rampage, but it was too late to worry about how that might change things.
Gigantes being taken down was part of it. If one prepared in the game and grinded, it was definitely possible for people doing challenge runs.
Taking down gigantes awarded the player with the estimation of all the combat miko, but… Shian and the others purposefully avoided it.
After all, they decided beforehand that each combat miko would go to one person.
If someone broke the deal, the other reincarnated students would band together to remove him.
There were the precedents of Zenon and Isaac, so no one would purposefully make the others resent them. Even if it was possible to take down gigantes.
Finally, there was an even more important point.
Ryuuga, who took down gigantes with Yuugo, was a character that would not join the player’s party unless specific conditions were met.

“What’s done is done, the problem is what might happen. Yuugo and Ryuuga are weirdly chummy, so something weird might happen again. So… We need to pull them apart.”
“Pull them apart? What do you want to do? Bad-mouth them and get them to get mad at each other?”
“We don’t need to do that. There’s a simpler, and more effective way. We don’t destroy their relationship, we just make sure that eyesore scum is beyond recovery…!”
Egos said to Shian, with a grin that showed he was thinking nothing good.
Everyone showed interest in his plan, and Egos laid it out full of confidence.
“Thankfully, the next event is a good chance to execute this plan. In this event… Phi will disappear. That means Yuugo will be too busy to deal with Ryuuga. We’ll strike him exactly at his weakest point for maximum effect. So? Good plan, right?”
On top of having no fighting ability, Egos was talking about targeting the young Phi, leading the others to gulp a little at his heartless plan.
But… The fact that no one objected spoke volumes of their lack of scruples.
