After returning from the dungeon, we find the guild empty. There’s no one here besides employees.
It’s the middle of the day, so surely adventurers are out hunting.
Adventurers who leave the dungeon the same day they went in tend to enter early in the morning and return at night, or as the sun is setting.
The only ones who return at this hour are ones who stayed there for days, or did what they set out to do.
“I’m glad it’s empty.”
We conquered the dungeon, so we need to report it.
Depending on the receptionist, we could get one that processes it quietly, or someone who yells with surprise.
Mikaru back in Elesya is the latter.
Argo hands his dungeon card, acting as our representative, and the receptionist lady starts processing it, but stops.
She looks at us, and looks down again to continue working.
“Please tell me if you want an auction. And what do you want to do about having conquered the dungeon?”
“Well… We’re leaving within ten days, so please announce it after that.”
It’s going to be announced regardless. It doesn’t matter who did it, the dungeon being conquered will make it more active.
Argo knows he can’t ask for them not to announce it, so he asked that it be done after we’ve left.
Most adventurers would want the glory that comes with conquering a dungeon, so they’d actually want it announced in the most public way possible.
And the receptionist responds with…
“Very well.”
She says, and she bows.
“But don’t expect much in terms of auctions.”
Is the last thing Argo says before he leaves, and we follow him.
We can’t give an immediate answer, because we haven’t even discussed it. Still, like Argo said, considering what the magic items do, we probably won’t let go of them.
The receptionist mentioned auctions because of the high probability of finding rare items in the treasure chest of the tenth floor.
There are also records of what items it yielded in the past.
We go straight to the inn, borrow a booth, and talk.
We decide to have a somewhat early dinner, and that the magic ring and skill ring will go to Argo’s party, and the scapegoat ring and sorcery bracelet will come to us.
Apparently Argo’s party is going to keep on adventuring.
“So about the skill ring. Can we record two of yours, Mia?”
Argo wants to record Heal and Recovery. It’s true that it would be reassuring to have them.
“What about the third one?”
I ask.
“…Let me think for a bit.”
Physical or magic? Or maybe support magic like blessings.
Something interesting about the skill ring too is that the skills it records affect an area, not an individual.
That means Heal can affect several people at once. But on the flip-side of being strong, it’s restricted to once per day.
With the discussion over, it’s time to order our food.
We were snacking while we talked, but we didn’t eat anything while resting during the boss fight. And since we ordered more than usual, it took longer.
We leave after we eat, and see a lot of people in the dining hall, drinking and eating.
The booth completely blocks sound, so we had no idea, but this is a common sight here.
A lot of the people here aren’t staying in the inn, they’re just here to eat. And the others who are staying here are merchants. The adventurers are staying somewhere else.
That proves how good the food here is.
Then one adventurer rushes inside. He’s breathing heavily, and his face is twisted while he tries to compose his breathing.
“J-Jetblack is back!”
The room goes silent.
The adventurer who said that seems sullen. After all, forty percent of the people that went in didn’t return. Not to mention that the ones that did were full of wounds and exhausted.
The silent adventurers are shocked by what they hear.
It makes sense. Everyone other than us thought Jetblack was in there for a long time because they were managing to hunt on the tenth floor.
Of course, some people ask what kind of place the tenth floor really is, but Argo plays it off with a smile, and we escape upstairs.
We could talk about the kijin, but we’re all tired, so resting comes first.

Thanks for the treat.
