Walking in another world – Chapter 686 – The next destination

I lie on the bed and sigh.

Unlike in Majolica and Fors, we didn’t talk to a god here.

I stretch my left hand towards the ceiling, and look at the bracelet.

Yes… There wasn’t a conversation with a god there, but when I left the tenth floor’s boss room, divine power flowed into the bracelet.

‘I understand the reasons. I will lend you my power.’

Was what I heard.

I talked about it with the others, but apparently I was the only one who heard it. That’s why they were a little perplexed that nothing happened after we conquered the dungeon.

I’ve tried talking inside my mind, but I haven’t gotten a response, so do I have to go report this to Eliana and get her advice?

Maybe this god will appear if I go there. I can’t tell what kind of god it is from the voice alone, but I imagine I can call it the demon or kijin god…

◇ ◇ ◇

The next day, as we have breakfast, I tell Chris and the others I want to go to Altair. Then I go to the guild with Chris, Argo, and Guilford.

We’re going to add to their data, but also, since people don’t normally know what items they get in treasure chests do, it’s common to get them appraised.

“The air is heavy…”

Argo is right, there’s a gloomy air over the whole town, and I can hear the name Jetblack being said.

I think the excitement they caused just made the recoil even worse when they came back defeated. It wouldn’t have been like this if it was a regular party or a small clan.

Jetblack really is the most influential group in this dungeon. I think a lot of people thought only Jetblack could conquer this dungeon.

We enter the guild, and see about twenty people here. Some are looking at the quests on the wall, and some are sitting at the tavern.

When the receptionist who spoke with us yesterday sees us, she points to a hall that leads to the back.

We follow her, go up some stairs, and stop in front of a room.

She knocks, and when the door opens, we see two guild employees.

“Well then, let us begin.”

I take three items out of the Item Box after being prompted by the guild employee.

Expectant eyes fall on them. A guild employee fearfully reaches towards them, and places them on a magic item that can analyze them.

The employee is excited, taking notes of the name and function of the magic items.

The skill ring is the one that draws the most interest.

We’ve decided to keep the scapegoat ring a secret, so it’s staying in the item box. That ability might bring trouble. People might attack just to get it, or start stalking.

“What are you planning to do with the magic items?”

“We are going to use them all.”

Argo gives a short response.

“…I see.”

The employee sounds a little disappointed, but doesn’t say any more, because they’re ours.

Once that’s done, we answer questions about the magic eyes of the boss kijin.

I learned their names through Analysis, but I can’t just tell them that, so we describe what they felt like, and go back to the inn once we’re done.

And then, it’s time for all of us to talk.

It was brought up a few times while we explored this dungeon, but we’re going to go to the next one. Avid, here in the Borsheil Empire.

This dungeon will be different. Apparently it’s more common to mine ore there than to fight monsters. People usually call it the mine dungeon, and since it only has three floors, each one is pretty big.

People can get increasingly more valuable ore the further down they go, but there are conditions that have to be met. They have to deliver ore in order to open the door to the next floor.

Also, said ore can be bought, people don’t have to mine it themselves. Although I’ve heard it gets pretty expensive.

Monster magic stones can also be delivered, but they have to be from monsters of that dungeon.

“What are you going to do next, Argo?”

“Ah, we were discussing going to Avid too. But not for the dungeon, to get new equipment. We’ve saved up quite a bit of money.”

The town of Avid has a dungeon, but that’s not all. It’s also famous as a smithing town.

A lot of blacksmiths gather there, because it’s abundant in ore. This includes dwarves who stayed in the empire.

These dwarves formed a clan, one of the five big ones in the empire.

“Then let’s look for wagons tomorrow.”

Avid is a little to the east of Zuirya, but to get there, we have to go through the capital of Heil.

It’s not like we can’t go straight from here, but we’d have to cross a forest.

I think walking through a forest wouldn’t be a bad idea, but since we’ve heard of vicious monsters lurking there sometimes, we decided to pass on it this time.

Not that this group would have any trouble getting there.
