‘Gegyah!’
‘Gegyagya!’
The goblins are all front line types, and maybe that’s why they rush us without any sort of control.
Could it also be because the goblin general that’s the center of the group doesn’t have Command…? They’re just charging without any semblance of coordination. I guess newbies wouldn’t challenge monsters when they’re outnumbered, but that won’t cut it on this floor.
Still, this isn’t my first time. And I’ve fought ones stronger than this. There’s no way I’ll be outdone when they combine poor stats with brain dead tactics.
I unsheathe my sword and swipe forward. That’s enough for the two fighter goblins in front to turn to smoke. Then I step forward, slash the third, and then pierce the fourth along with the fifth that charges against me.
“Crimson Sword.”
The impaled goblins scream as they burn and are turned to smoke.
‘Guge!’
‘Gegyah!!’
The remaining goblins appear from the smoke, holding up their sword as they come at me. But I easily dodge by twisting my body, and swing my sword as I turn. This time I stab three, and they are helplessly burned.
“Hm…”
“Uh? Anything wrong with Shouta?”
“His movements were smooth, and his form was good.”
“No, it’s just that I didn’t use any boosting skills, not even Perception… And they were so weak.”
The goblins in the high rank dungeon put up a little more of a fight.
“You have grown dramatically since then, master. Furthermore, the enemies are weaker than you assumed. There is no comparison.”
“You were just cool!”
“I see, thanks.”
It’s not just my stats, I’ve grown.
So the drops… Hm, everything. And Sword Knowledge Lv1…
Name: Sword Knowledge
Grade: Normal
Classification: Passive Skill
Description: Grants basic knowledge of sword handling
Meh.
What about Pursuer?
Name: Pursuer
Grade: Normal
Classification: Art Skill
Description: Chases the tracks of a target
…Hm, what is this for? I can’t help but picture those four idiots, so I can only think of this being used for nothing good.
“How can these be useful?”
“Sword Knowledge is a low rank skill. That means it cannot coexist with Swordsmanship, and when you learn Swordsmanship, it overwrites the other.”
“And if it’s done in reverse?”
“No one has tried it. It is too risky.”
“Makes sense.”
I have Swordsmanship Lv6, so I’m too scared to try.
“Sword Knowledge could evolve into Swordsmanship if compressed, so I’ll hold on to it. What about Pursuer?”
“This won’t be useful for Shouta either.”
“Yeah, he has his map.”
“What do you mean?”
“This skill allows people to follow the tracks of a target, but its effect is a little different if used on monsters. When used, you can tell where a monster has been, and detect where it is headed. But since master can see on the map where the enemies are, this is useless.”
“I see.”
Conversely, it could be useful in places where I don’t have map information yet, but then I’ll care more about filling the map than monsters. I can also see with Hawk Eye, so I can see monsters even if they’re behind something.
Yes, it’s not useful for me.
“But destroying them would be a waste… And if we decide to sell them, there will be a lot.”
“Yes.”
“They will take room, and if we toss them, someone else might pick up a mountain of them. So I think the best solution is for darling to just use them all.”
“…Yes.”
I guess that’s what it comes to.
“Then let’s deal with these miscellaneous skills when we take a break.”
“Very well.”
“Hn. Fufu. Still, it’s really impressive seeing you mass produce skills like this.”
“It is, Aki.”
“Well, when you two were with us, I was fighting monsters that didn’t drop skills. But the real hunt begins after I’ve filled all four corners.”
“Yes yes, we know.”
“Good luck!”
“Yes. How about we pick up the pace? Enki, run as fast as you comfortably can. Try to match our speed.”
‘Goh!’
Enki is a heavy golem, but has the horsepower of a golem core IV. And in its smaller three meter form, it’s somewhat light, and can move with more agility than a Giant Stone Golem. The heavy armor makes it slower, but it’s great how it can still run at the speed of a bicycle.
“It’s like we’re jogging.”
“Haha, yes.”
‘Goh! Goh!’
“Master, goblins in the distance.”
“I’ll handle them with Enki. If orcs appear, please take care of them.”
““““Yes!””””
I’m curious about what orcs drop, but I should prioritize rare monsters.
We reach a corner, then another, and eventually, the smoke that signals a rare monster is coming appears.
