“Yuugo, don’t ask me questions. I want to know the answer too.”
Yuugo and the others moved and took position far from where Phi’s group was looking around the building. They received a request for backup through their communication devices, and rushed to where it came from… But did not know how to react to the mess they saw.
There was a boy and girl with a strange vigor, talking to each other while going around pressing their faces to glass exhibits that housed the insects.
They heard of two suspicious people causing a fuss inside the insectary, but… They smiled awkwardly at this sight they were not expecting, as the other two continued speaking with excitement.
“Look little sister! Look at the charm of this round pillbug! Its body is glossy and truly beautiful!!”
“True, big brother! Bugs really are the best. They teach us the wonders of evolution and diversity of life forms!!”
It seemed they were siblings.
They were not acting their age, and while it was nice to see siblings get along, Yuugo and the others thought this would disturb the other guests, so they stepped up in place of the still unseen security of the insectary.
“Hum, excuse me, can you be a little more quiet in here?”
“Hm!? Are you talking to us!? Are you telling us to contain our emotions as we feel the excitement of being touched by the wonders of insects!?”
“How crass! How could you disturb our blissful time!? You could learn from insects!!”
“T-that’s not it, you’re bothering the other guests, so we want you to lower the volume…”
“We are not bothering! It’s the others who are weird! They should be moved by the wonders of insects to the point where their hearts tremble like ours! There is no need to observe insects quietly! We are the correct ones here!!”
“Yes yes! My big brother is right!”
Yuugo and the others all felt these people were more trouble than they expected.
They loved insects, but that did not mean they could ignore the rules and bother the other guests, thought Yuugo and the others, but the siblings continued.
“Insects are wonderful living beings! Some build giant nests underground, some can fly, and some live underwater! Some use poison and needles as weapons, some have hard shells, and some have abilities we cannot even imagine! Now these are the wonders of life! There is a lot we can learn from insects!”
“Ah… I get what you’re saying. If insects were the size of people, they would be the strongest beings on the planet, right? People say that a lot, and insect monster armor beasts that get to that size are very strong enemies.”

The big brother suddenly drew closer to Yuugo, after he showed he understood.
This was a problem, but Yuugo figured if he got them to focus on him, at least they would not bother the other guests, so he played along while the big brother spoke with enthusiasm.
“Insects are packed with the wonders of life! Look at ants. They have completely different abilities and appearances depending on the environment!! That’s evolution! Does the environment call for them to be big? Small? They learn what other powers they should have, and have it reflect on themselves! Evolution means upgrading living beings! Not to mention that the diversity of evolution achieved by insects far surpasses that of humans! People should know that!!”
“Ah, I want to be an insect too…! Strong beautiful and wonderful! Surpass humans and become an insect!”
“…Abandoning humanity, uh… I’m not sure I agree with that…”
Mumbled Ryuuga as he heard the little sister, but thankfully, the siblings were too entranced in their own thoughts to hear it. They were still facing Yuugo and going on and on.
“Let us introduce ourselves! I’m Trill, a simple enthusiast. This is my little sister Riel. She is no match for me, but her love for insects far surpasses that of a regular person! But since we have the chance, I want to ask a question…”
Trill introduced himself and his sister despite no one really asking, and continued.
His expression seemed terribly excited, as he turned to Yuugo and the others with a question despite them not really saying much so far.
“What’s your favorite insect?”
