I go to Guardian HD, and slap Chief Gotouta in the face with a letter of resignation. Then he says he won’t pay me, but when I threaten to report him, he shuts up and looks frustrated.
I feel so much better.
All I did in Guardian HD was test the durability of equipment, but my life was kind of on the line there.
Seekers casually hunt orcs on the twenty-first floor, but attacks from their strong bodies could very well kill someone if they land a good hit.
Even if the goal is to test products, having someone do that is insane. I was clearly conned. The pay wasn’t enough, and I should’ve gotten reparations.
And then the guy says he’s not even going to pay me? What does he think I am!?
I’ll report this to the Labor Standards Inspection Office anyway.
Also, I’m selling all the Guardian HD equipment I have. Then I go to the weapons store, ready to pay the five million yen.

I’ve been wondering what to do today, so I’ll test out the weapon I got from the warrior kobold, the tyrant battleaxe.
I take out the two and a half meter battleaxe from my Storage Space, and look at the big axe at the tip of the spear. It’s easy to let myself get carried away by the weight, so I need to plant my feet on the ground or I’ll fall.
I picture the warrior kobold’s movements, the strong attacks with the battleaxe and grappling from super up close. Also, throws and locks. Thinking back, that was like an anti-personnel monster.
I can’t imagine throws and locks will work well on monsters, so I mostly copy the fighting moves and battleaxe swings.
Trace the warrior kobold’s moves, swing the battleaxe down, mow, sweep, thrust.
I add a kick between moves, and when a monster gets close, pull it in to execute a rising knee. I hit it with the handle of the battleaxe, and it takes some distance with fear.
I picture this even more strongly, and swing down.
I keep repeating until these moves are my own. I add throws and locks in the middle, but I can’t help it because it’s the warrior kobold’s weapon.
I picked a spot that should be far from others, but occasionally seekers pass by and look at me. But I don’t need to be worried.
I can’t practice using this weapon anywhere but the dungeon, and if I mind others too much, I won’t learn how to use this well.
I could just keep using the greatsword of fortitude, but that invited unnecessary trouble the other day.
The tyrant battleaxe might be similar, but the greatsword of fortitude definitely stands out more.
And if this still doesn’t work, I’ll give up and throw myself into battle.
And for that, I need the techniques to defend myself.
