But still, her pride as an evolved being was on the line, and she roused herself thinking she could not be defeated by a mere human like Ryuuga. She reformed her broken swords, and yelled.
“See? You got all carried away because you broke my weapons, but I can regenerate them as much as I want! I won’t fall for that again! This time I will mince you…!!”
She yelled at Ryuuga, but could not finish her pledge, because her twin swords were broken once again.
The surprise left her speechless, and she could only stand dazed.
Did Ryuuga do the same thing again? How did he cut her swords? She understood nothing, and her body trembled as the swords fell from her hands.
“A-ah, a-aaaah…!?”
“…I see you realized the difference in our power. Or should I say that your heart is broken?”
The fear being masked by anger exploded when she was shown the overwhelming difference in their power.

Her instincts told her she could not win. She finally understood this was an opponent she should not be facing.
The young man in front of her was above her in the pyramid of power… Once she realized this, she shamelessly ran away from the battle.

Ryuuga faced Riel as she ran as fast as she could, and took a step forward after a deep breath.
The next moment, Ryuuga passed by her as if he teleported, and whispered with his dear sword still in its scabbard.
“Spring Thunder.”
“Ah, ga, ah…!?”
A sound made by the guard of a sword followed, and Riel was slashed.
Her eyes rolled back, and she went completely limp, as Ryuuga passed and spoke.
“You might be fast, but that is all. My partner is faster, stronger, and I can’t read his movements. Compared to him, someone who depends on her speed is nothing to be afraid of.”
“Ga, ah, aaaaaaah!?”
Golden lightning burst from Riel’s body.
She took a slash that was faster than lightning, and upon feeling its full force, she let out her last yell as her body was engulfed in an explosion.
“…Your destiny as a superior being ends here. It was quite a fleeting tale.”
She turned back into a human, and after checking that her scorched body was still alive, Ryuuga pierced the object next to her that looked like a stag beetle horn with his blade.
He went back to Yui and Phi, and spoke to the one who protected his sister.
“Are you all right, Phi? Just hang on a little more, I’ll take you to a doctor.”
“Thank you… You really are strong…!”
“I simply defeated an opponent I could beat. You are the real strong one, facing an opponent stronger than you and not giving up.”
Ryuuga held Phi, and walked with Yui while giving his highest praise to the one who saved his sister.
As Phi heard that, he was impressed by Ryuuga’s strength, and how he defeated the monsters infesting the building before getting to them, and then asked a question.
“T-that’s right, my big brother? Where is he…?”
“Don’t worry. Yuugo is fighting to protect others right now.”
He had not spoken to him yet, but could not imagine Yuugo losing to an enemy he managed to defeat, so he reassured Phi.
As a big brother, his priority was treating the wounds of the one who protected his little sister, so he rushed to a safe area.
