So this is an iron golem.
The first attack rips through its body, feeling not much different from a stone golem to me. My sword cuts through it without any resistance.
Is it that easy? I only feel this way until the second attack.
The iron golem’s body regenerates before I can swing again, and now it’s hard for my sword to not penetrate it. I easily cut through it the first time, but now, I only leave a small cut.
The third attack is completely repelled, and I quickly figure out why. It’s strengthening its body with magic energy.
I see. Now I get why their magic stones are expensive.
I can probably take it down by attacking until its magic energy is depleted, but that means I won’t get the magic stone we need to deliver.
But since this provides good quality iron, a lot of people take that route.
I take some distance and regroup, but my opponent can’t get tired, so it keeps attacking.
I can easily dodge it because it moves so slowly.
Golems’ bodies are different depending on the individual. For example, the one fighting Hikari and Mia is slimmer and faster.
This one is thicker and slower. And its arms are like the torso of an adventurer that trains his body. This means its attacks carry more power.
I dodge while infusing more magic energy and swinging at the iron golem. The first attack goes in deep, but it can deal with the second.
I’ve also noticed that while its moves are slow, it deploys magic energy quickly.
And it’s good at using magic energy. Actually, this thing has magic energy control that’s wasted on a golem.
It’s hard to fight it one on one. Yes, one on one.
I use the Strengthening skill, and raise my sword’s sharpness, cutting into the golem deeper.
It immediately starts regenerating.
It tries to punch me while regenerating, but I dodge and attack again.
Magic energy gathers in tune with my swings. My sword bounces off the body strengthened with magic energy, but the spear thrust at the iron golem from behind pierces it.
It doesn’t end at one, and after two more, a hole opens in its body.
After the circular thrusts, the last attack pushes out part of its body. It falls on the ground, and the golem’s body slowly falls.
I quickly pick up what fell first, and dodge the falling golem.
“How was it?”
“You really helped me here.”
I say to Mia, who’s on the other side wiping sweat from her forehead with one hand and holding her spear with the other.
“Master, here.”
After I collect the remains of the iron golem, Hikari hands me the magic stone from the one they fought.
And then she gives me its remains too.
The iron isn’t as good as the one I just collected, but it’s still iron. It can be melted and used for many things.
The golems around us are down, but the battle isn’t over.
“Rurika and the others… Seem fine.”
They seem to be having an easy time coordinating and fighting.
“Let’s go to Argo’s party.”
Says Mia while holding her spear tight.
They have fewer people and are facing more golems.
Hikari and Mia help Argo and Guilford, and I run towards Rick and the others.
I cast Heal on the three of them when I arrive, and aid them while trying not to get in their way, but there isn’t much to do.
Seeing how they fight makes me think I’ll just bother them if I jump in. They are in perfect sync, protecting, disturbing, and attacking as if they were one.
I could keep the iron golem in check with magic, but I’m afraid of messing up the timing.
I’m sure they would be able to adjust to that much of a measurement error, but I should stay out of their way and watch our surroundings.
And the battle ends less than five minutes after we arrive. All I do is watch them, but that’s nice too.
I can remember the fight thanks to the Memory skill, so should I do some image training later?
We meet up with Rurika’s group, and wait for Argo’s to finish.
They’re fighting a bronze golem with Mia and Hikari as the main attackers, probably to let them have the experience of fighting it.
The not so dangerous fight ends quickly, meaning every golem that spawned around here has been dealt with.

Thanks for the treat.
