That was why they were able to act swiftly when the Friends of the Night Society became violent… But this situation was still unexpected.
People who were just regular civilians until the day before were gaining the power to transform into monster armor beasts, and attacking those related to Luminous Academy.
They rampaged while yelling about their justice, attempting to remove those they deemed to be nuisances. Even if one were to be generous, they could only be called mad.
These people housing madness formed groups, and as Yuugo thought they had to do something about them rampaging in various places in the city, Marcos spoke.
“These are amateurs. The guards should be able to easily subdue them. The problem is…”
“Their numbers. We don’t even know how many of them got the power of monster armor beasts.”
The Friends of the Night Society that turned into monster armor beasts were not that strong.
To Yuugo, who defeated a level two monster armor beast, it was like taking candy from a baby.
The problem was how many of them got this power.
The city was in peril, as they had no idea how many monster armor beasts laid in waiting. One could never know if the person standing next to them was a believer of Black Veil, and was given similar power.
And they would most likely rampage in the name of justice… As Yuugo thought that, he was contacted through the communications device given to him by Angel.
“Ryuuga? How are things there? Are you done?”
‘Am I done…? Yuugo, don’t ask me pointless questions.’
Yuugo asked a question to Ryuuga, who faced monster armor beasts in the city with Sakura, and he received the same kind of answer as usual.
He was never worried, but he was relieved that they subdued the monster armor beasts without issue, and Ryuuga continued.
‘Jinba and the others ran here to detain them. But I don’t think this is over.’
“Yes. The silver lining is that it doesn’t look like they all turned into monster armor beasts.”
There were many in the Friends of the Night Society. There were no less than a hundred, and if they all transformed and rampaged, it would be horrible.
That was something to be happy about, but despite the city not falling into the worst case scenario, it was still in danger. Ryuuga spoke to try to calm the anxious Yuugo.
‘Yuugo, I know how you feel, but being flustered will get us nowhere. Much like how An and the others are busy making long range armament, we can only do what we can.’
“…Yes. We just gotta minimize the damage.”
Angel heard about how Yuugo let Black Veil escape when he flew, and got to work on developing a long range weapon right away.
She used the second Blaster confiscated from residents of the fifth dormitory, recruited Melt and Setsuna to help with their thoughts, since they used long range attacks, and got to work on a new feature to change the shape of Blaster’s limbs.
It was frustrating being on the defensive like this, but Yuugo should prepare to move out swiftly the moment he was needed.
He agreed with his partner, who said that even just stopping the members of the Friends of the Night Society should be effective enough, when suddenly, the hospital became noisy.
‘…What’s wrong, Yuugo? What’s that noise…?’
“Sorry, I’ll call you later.”
Said Yuugo before cutting the call with Ryuuga, who noticed something was off, and he approached the center of this noise.
He saw Marcos, who moved out before him, holding down a female member of the Friends of the Night Society they detained before.
“What’s wrong Marcos? Did something happen?”
“She started struggling all of a sudden. Take a look at that.”
Yuugo looked to where Marcos was pointing, and saw a black feather on the floor.
He knew that was proof one was a member of the Friends of the Night Society, and the black feather began to emit a strange light.
“Wha!? What was that!?”
“I saw that when she started struggling. There is something to that badge.”
“Dammit! Lemme go! I was chosen by Black Veil! Don’t get in my way!!”
The frantic woman received a chop to the neck by Marcos and fainted.
Yuugo looked at the black feather badge and the woman, and whispered.
“Is this it!? Is this what turned them into monster armor beasts!?”
