After going down to the third floor, I see a wasteland.
The wide space isn’t the only difference compared to the first two floors, there’s also where we are.
I call Map, and see we’re not on an edge of the map.
I turn around and see a solemn building that doesn’t look like it belongs in this wasteland. That’s where we came from.
There’s another building next to it, with the door that leads to the boss room.
“So? Anyone else around?”
“I don’t think so.”
I say to Argo.
I’m using Presence Detection and Magic Energy Detection, but we’re the only reactions of people I see on Map.
I see monsters gathered to the west, so I assume there’s water there.
“We should go there first.”
No one objects to Argo’s suggestion, so we head west.
Since there’s no one here, we consider using the golem wagon, but the many big rocks and cracks on the ground make us give up on that idea.
Even the wagon that absorbs shocks would have a tough time running here.
I’m happy to walk, but it’s a bit tough for the others. Not to mention it’s a bit far away.
We end up reaching the water at dusk, but since camping near it would lead to monsters attacking, we move somewhere else.
I don’t think I can create a house and defensive walls with Earth Magic here either.
“We’ll have to take turns keeping watch.”
The monster reactions are far, but we don’t know how they act, so we need to be cautious.
It’s our first time here, so we can’t just leave it to a golem either.
According to the documents, the aquatic animals don’t usually get close to the wasteland, but it can happen. But it does say that they don’t stay away from water for too long.
We split into three groups to take watch, and the rest of the day is uneventful.
◇ ◇ ◇
The next day is when our exploration really begins.
This is the water area, but it’s not like there’s no land. There’s a path that goes to what looks like an island.
However, depending on the time of day, this path can be completely submerged.
“How about we stay by the shore and see how the water level changes?”
“If we’re thinking about what’s ahead, that would be a good idea. We don’t want the water rising while we’re fighting.”
As I hear Argo and Guilford, I wonder how we should look into the water level changes.
I can remember it with the Memory skill, but I can’t use it to remember how it changes at what times.
Should I contrast it with the sun? There are times when the sun is hidden on this field.
It would be a lot easier to remember if we knew the precise time.
I call my status screen and look at my skill list.
Anything about time… Here.

【Watch Lv1】
It’s just exactly what it sounds like. Its effect is that I can tell what time it is. But there’s more, I can also see the effective time of skills and stuff like that.
For example, if I chant Fire Wall, I’ll know how long I have until it’s gone.
That appears automatically, but I can remove it if it’s a bother.
I can use it for stuff like cooking too. Will I know just the right time to stop cooking meat?
I feel like Hikari might be able to enjoy even better food.
After checking the skill, I wonder if I should tell Argo and the others.
It feels weird to think about that at this point, but it’s a new skill…
After discussing it with my party, we decide to tell them after we have a good grasp on the effect.
We’re not doing it to be mean, we just don’t want them to rely on me too much and be less cautious.
I call Map, and see the time displayed on it.
It’s counting down. What happens when it hits zero?
Looking at it closer, it’s the water area. Is it about the water level changes?
If this is correct, our exploration will be a lot easier.
“Did something happen, Sora?”
Asks Mia because I’m staring at Map.
The others can’t see it, so it looks like I’m staring at nothing.
“I’m looking at the map.”
I say, and she looks exasperated.
“If it’s the time when the water level changes, it will show when it returns to how it was, correct?”
Asks Chris, sounding very interested.
Yes, if we know that too, we can avoid being there when it sinks.
The problem is that I can tell how it’s moving here, but not far away.
Is there a skill that lets me see far away?
【Farsight Lv1】
This is a skill that lets me see far away.
It’s limited in that my vision gets narrower the further I go, but oh well.
This also increases the accuracy of my Throw – Shooting skill, and let’s me activate magic where I can see.
Also, Map displays where I’m looking at.
…I’m glad it’s useful.
