The air was tense.
Raiha watched the fight between Ryuuga and Garland… Black Veil, wondering if her breathing and heartbeat were not the loudest sounds in that space.
Contrary to the intense clashes between Yuugo and Glonas, these two did not show much movement.
Black Veil unleashed bloodthirst like he could attack Ryuuga at any moment, but glared without moving a centimeter.
There was a singular reason why. Ryuuga’s stance showed no openings.
Raiha watched him not too far away, and understood how hard it would be to challenge him head on.
If Black Veil carelessly approached him, he would be cut down on the spot… The nickname of strongest swordsman in Yamato was not just for show, she thought as she watched him in battle.
At the same time, she also felt Black Veil was strong enough to be aware of that, and gulped as they continued to stare at each other.

Raiha was shaken, thinking something abnormal happened, and Ryuuga fixed the grip on his sword calmly as he continued looking at Black Veil.
Black Veil’s body got bigger in front of them, and he spoke as if showing off his further powered up form.
“What do you think? This is my true form… The ultimate form of justice that desired the power to eliminate all evil.”
“Don’t try to act cool. Level 2… That’s what that is, right? Just a twisted monster turning more monstrous.”
Ryuuga witnessed the evolution of a monster armor beast in the insectary, so Black Veil’s was not surprising.
This nonchalance seemed to irritate Black Veil further, because the claws equipped on both hands shined, and he thrust at Ryuuga.
“Don’t mock me!! I am Black Veil! The envoy of justice who judges evil! Not any kind of monster!!”
Black Veil ran straight forward and swung his claws down.
They painted a light as Ryuuga dodged them within a paper thin distance.
From there, Black Veil used them in single strikes, mixed with simple martial arts.
He was not out on the field, but he did polish his fighting techniques as a guard. But Ryuuga blocked it all with his katana, and sometimes dodged.
“Sorry, I’m touching you a bit.”
“Eh? Kyah!?”
Ryuuga turned around as he jumped back, and after holding Raiha, took distance from Black Veil with a big jump.
As he put her down after going far enough away, she spoke.
“Ryuuga, I don’t have to constantly be protected. Let me fight too.”
“…No, stand back. I want to fight him by myself.”
Ryuuga understood what she meant. Raiha was a combat miko, someone who could fight, and not a weak person that needed constant protection, but he wanted a one on one fight with Black Veil.
Raiha saw the indescribable expression on his face as he looked at the monster armor beast that turned into a sad avenger, and after gulping, she closed her mouth and nodded.
“…At least don’t mind me. I can protect myself.”
“Okay… I’ll respect your wishes, thank you.”
Ryuuga thanked Raiha, who said that out of consideration for him.
He left her and approached Black Veil, and unlike before, he held up his sword and attacked.
“Fuuuuuh…!”
“Nuh, nuuuuuh!?”
One, two. After being cut with sharp slashes, Black Veil groaned with pain.
He put up his claws to block the third slash, but Ryuuga’s polished vitality and magic energy took that defense head on.
“Tempest Loong Sword, Rain Form ・ Deutzia Rot.”
“Wha…!?”
The claws were put together to block, but the slash cut them.
Like a flower rotting and falling to a strong continuous rain, the claws were cut roughly in the middle. Black Veil looked at his now shorter weapons in disbelief, but was sent flying back by the next attack.
“Gufuh!? Goah, ahh…!! Gah, gugah…!!”
Black Veil painfully groaned after the impact that sent him back like a flash flood.
He stumbled to his feet, and saw Ryuuga rapidly approaching.
