“Gshh, jshhh, gshhr…”
Yuugo heard a disgusting sound of a mouth (although it was doubtful it had organs) slurping saliva, as a flower monster roamed the hospital.
It moved slowly with dull movements, as if looking for any patients that might have stayed behind.
The goal of this monster armor beast was very clear. It was looking for human prey to take to its parent body, the gigantrose.
It was a brand new kind of monster armor beast that was just born, but it posed enough of a threat, as it moved according to their instincts.
“Jhhbi, jgu, gujuuu…”
The flower monsters being born from the gigantrose were coming down from the top floors to roam around the hospital.
But since Yuugo took down the first one, and the patients escaped, suffice to say, they found no prey.
It was too bad (not for humans), but the flower monsters were definitely not very smart.
Although that was also probably obvious, considering their duty was to capture and carry prey.
However, with bodies of the kraken mollusk monster that absorbed blows, and the explosive flowers of exprose, they were still quite the astounding beings even with their low intelligence.
It was hard to damage them, and attempting could lead to catastrophic damage. Flower monsters had incredibly troubling peculiarities, and they walked the halls looking for people.
It groaned, walked, and searched.
As it continued walking, it suddenly felt a presence near it, and stopped.
“Ghjyuu…?”
It did not hear footsteps or see anyone. It felt something was close.
The flower monster wished to capture this prey for its parent body, but… An indescribable feeling slowly spread.
This slowly ran up and expanded, and its instincts appealed to it.
However, flower monsters had low intelligence and dull senses, so it could not comprehend what it was.
“Gu, jyugu, gu, jyu…!?”
The flower monster was confused by circumstances it could not understand, but the answer came when a dark shadow appeared right in front of it.
“Shhh!!”
“Gushhrr…!?”
Something was there, it thought, but it was too late.
The dark shadow swung its arm, and with a sharp attack, severed both of the monster armor beast’s arms.
“Jhhh, jrr…!?”
As it lost its means to resist, the back of its head was grabbed, and it felt a blade approaching its neck. And that was when it finally understood what it was feeling.
That odd sensation… Was fear. Fear of being hunted as prey.
It was supposed to be hunter, but suddenly became the hunted. It took time to adjust to this.
It was all too late by the time it noticed. After all, its neck had been sliced.
“Great! Slash!!”
The flower monster lost its head before it could let out its final yell, and green liquid gushed from the wound as the body fell.
With its arms, body, and what was its vitality spread around, the monster armor beast was completely immobile, and Yuugo spoke while looking at this head in his hand.
“This is Yuugo, I took down a roaming monster armor beast. I safely retrieved the bomb.”
“Ou, nice! We’re retrieving the bombs one by one too!”
Yuugo reported to his allies.
Velda heard the report through divination, and continued while sounding a little excited.
“This is easier than I thought! We might be able to collect these without any trouble and leave!”
“Don’t get careless, Velda. It just feels easy because Yuugo is doing the most difficult part. This is still dangerous.”
Yuugo smiled awkwardly while listening to Peewee scold Velda, and undid his transformation.
He handed the head with the bombs to a student that was with him, and spoke to Raiha.
“Raiha, how are things? Any changes?”
“No, all fine for now. I don’t see any new flower monsters or bombs.”
Thank goodness, said Yuugo quietly while breathing a sigh of relief.
Perhaps the gigantrose used a lot of its magic energy to grow gigantic, because it was not doing anything.
Maybe it would wither on its own if they did not allow it to replenish its magic energy… Thought Yuugo, but there was no need to put themselves one step behind.
The bombs were almost all collected, and the guards were surely beginning the operation to freeze the giant flower.
If the gigantrose was stopped, surely the operation to rescue everyone inside would proceed swiftly, thought Yuugo before Raiha spoke to him.
“The problem is the culprit outside. He might do something again if he learns we are about to escape…”
“Maybe. But don’t worry. I’m sure the others will do something about that.”
Jinba and the others outside were working on capturing the one thought to be behind this.
Surely they would catch him before he made his next move, trusted Yuugo.
“So let’s do what we can. I know we can all make it out of here.”
“Yes, let’s all escape together!”
Yuugo smiled at Raiha’s confident response, and nodded.
Everyone was focused on getting out, as the situation progressed outside.
