One Kraken is down, but despite the smoke of mermen dissipating right away, the smoke of the Kraken is hanging around like in a dungeon. I figured monsters that appear in a stampede didn’t evolve, but… Apparently I’m wrong. I received the experience, so the Kraken is dead for sure.
Maybe mermen were like rare II, and there was nothing beyond them. And maybe Krakens are special monsters with a special contrivance to them. I don’t know how this will play out, but maybe they’re like Gadaga or Huge Rainbow Slime, and something appears when I take the Krakens out at the same time.
I’m curious, so I feel like taking down the other one before this smoke dissipates.
But there’s an issue. This last fight propelled me to level two hundred seventy-four.
I should go back to the beach and roll Level Gacha, but this monster will probably get pissed if the cabinet is in its range, like other monsters.
I’m sure it will attack with a tsunami, which would make me forcing myself to fight up close pointless. And considering how vicious they are up close, rolling the gacha here would be suicide.
I have twenty spins left, so I want to roll and update the cabinet, but considering all that and the smoke, I’ll hold off on it for now.
Thinking about all this takes me a second.
“That’s enough Mental Haste! Enril and Iris, help Aira!”

Enril accelerates, and hits tentacles with wind blades just as they’re closing in to grab Aira.
The Kraken shows an opening, as it’s surprised to be hit suddenly from the side, and Aira hits it from the front. I also attack with Flying Sword – Firebird, and Iris shoots beams from above.
My attack and Enril’s are blocked by tentacles, but Iris and Aira’s deal damage to its body. It really is a lot easier when more are attacking.
But it will take time like this. And since I don’t know how long the smoke will hang around, I need to finish it quickly.
‘Popo!!’
I shoot a look at Enril, and prepare my move.
I had Enki and Enril practice their combat arts skills when I was training, but nothing beats using them in actual combat to polish them.
Enril gathers power in its wing, and uses its move in a shorter amount of time than before. And the Kraken is made to focus on defense.
‘Popoh!!’

Slash!!
The flash released from the wing cuts through tentacles and reaches the body. It’s stronger than the last one. This alone won’t finish it, but I have an attack ready

The Kraken detects danger and tries its best to twist its body to dodge, but the arrows flying at the speed of sound are too fast to dodge. Both leave a purple trail as they pierce the Kraken’s eyes and end its life.

Aira jumps from a dock module to footing created with Air Walk, and exhales next to me.

“They encountered a Kraken in the high rank dungeon. These ones were not the same.”

“You have never encountered rare monsters of the same type in other dungeons… Ah, no, you have experienced something similar. The General Goblins in the beginner dungeon. Much like that monster, monsters with the same name will appear in other places with varying levels of strength and skill sets. It is not unusual for the difference to be quite staggering.”
“So the Kraken they faced was weaker?”

I resupply Enril with magic energy, and have it follow Aira.
Iris and I return to the beach.

I keep their reception short, and give the next instructions.
“Ayane, give Iris a magic stone. There might be another monster coming.”
“Got it!”
“Enki, sorry, but change into the dome form!”
‘Gogoh!’
“Aki and Maki, come with me.”
“Yes!”
“Okay!”
I call out Level Gacha inside Enki, and spend the remaining twenty spins.
