“This is the unit pursuing Zaraki… Requesting immediate support. The enemy is far stronger than anticipated. We have almost been annihilated. Requesting immediate… Guh!?”
A small village, with broken roofs lined up. There laid many guards.
Would anyone believe this village was going about its normal day until not long ago?
Zaraki gained loong power from the jewel that sealed Raiha, and mowed down the guards and magic knights standing in his way to test his new power.
His overwhelming strength nullified most attacks, and the guards were helpless against this loong power. The pursuit unit was all but wiped out.
“Jinba, hang on! I’ll heal…!”
“Nevermind me, don’t waste magic energy, Melt…!!”
Jinba was the only guard remaining, and he was in tatters.
As he stopped Melt from healing him, he saw the students of Luminous academy face the frighteningly strong Zaraki while grinding his teeth.
“Take this!!”
Angel swung her big hammer and hit Zaraki with a strong attack.
A dull sound echoed as it hit him right in the stomach, but he grabbed the hammer and smiled as if it was nothing.
“What? Are you done already?”
“Wah!? Uwah!?”
He swung the hammer and threw a surprised Angel.
She hit the wall of a dilapidated house and groaned with pain, as Setsuna and Sakura moved in to attack without their magic items.
“Rampage, water loong! Eat the enemy!!”
“Wind blade! Tear up my enemy!!”
A geyser burst from the ground, and a wind scythe was fired… but neither attack hurt Zaraki.
He spread his arms wide, swung them to create a tornado, and sent both flying.
“Weaklings without magic items! You’re in the way! Fly away!!”
“Kyaaaah!?”
“Guaaaaah!!”
“You…! Face this way, Marcos Bolg is your opponent!!”
“I’ll help, Marcos!”
Zaraki did not follow Setsuna and Sakura to attack again, because Marcos charged towards him with his Giga Scissors.
Melt supported him with magic energy swords as he tackled Zaraki with all he had, but…?”
“Sorry, I know you’re really trying, but… That’s not gonna work a bit!!”
“Guh…!!”
Marcos clenched his teeth tight, as his all-out attack failed to make Zaraki budge.
They suffered damage, and were not at their best, but as they saw all of their attacks nullified by loong power and looked for a solution, Zaraki clenched his fist and yelled while raising it.
“From what I can tell, you’re better at defense than offense, right? Then block this!!”
“Nuuh! Guh, guuuh!!”
The fist was swung down on Giga Scissors.
Marcos blocked an attack from Zaraki’s previous form, but this was immensely more powerful, making him groan while his face twisted.
One attack, then another, which he somehow managed to withstand, but the third punch with a tornado around it blew him away.
“Guaaaaaah!!”
“Aguh! M-Marcos, hang on…!!”
Melt managed to catch Marcos as he flew black.
She was also caught by the tornado, and was surprised by the power it had despite being relatively weakened at that point.
It was not just defense, his offense was beyond their imagination.
Despite facing Zaraki’s power again, they showed no signs of giving up.
“Fighting him head on isn’t going to work. We need to find a way to deal damage or we won’t stand a chance.”
“He resists blows, slashes, and magic. But there’s no such thing as a perfect being, he has to have a weakness.”
“It could be… the jewel on his forehead. If that’s broken, he should be weakened!”
They looked for an answer and tried to form a strategy to face the immensely powerful Zaraki.
Zaraki watched them, and spoke with a snort.
“You don’t know when to quit. Haven’t you learned that your attacks aren’t gonna work?”
“So? That doesn’t mean we can’t beat you, and it’s not a reason to quit!”
“We know someone who didn’t give up until the end and beat you…! And admiring that person means we can’t give up now!”
Said Melt and Setsuna with strong will in their voices, and the others nodded while glaring at Zaraki.
Seeing them face him without faltering despite his evolution was nothing but unpleasant for him.
“You’re irritating. Cry and despair more. I’m the closest man to a loong.”
“Ah…! You mean the idiot that got the carpet pulled from under him and was beaten by Yuugo?”
“Tch…! Damn you…!!”
He became a half loong, and gained even more power. But despite facing this incredible power, they showed no fear at all.
It was the opposite, as Marcos dug up a wound Zaraki wished to not touch, making him explode with anger and let his emotions drive him as he attacked.
“As you wish! I’ll beat that mouth until it can’t speak again!!”
“Nuh! Guah!?”
“Marcos!! Kyaah!?”
He approached faster than they could see and used that momentum to punch Marcos away.
Next, he also punched Melt away, and attacked the others.
“Weaklings! Resisting and being annoying for no reason!!”
Angel was about to swing her hammer down, Sakura was going to attack from up close, and Setsuna was trying to help the others, but all were attacked and blown away.
Hitting houses, rolling on the ground, Zaraki looked happy as they took damage, but gulped with annoyance as one after the other, they got up.
“It’s not over yet…! We’re not giving up…!!”
“Yuugo trusted us, we can’t…!”
“Shut up…! Don’t say any more!! Don’t look down on me damn brats!!”
“…!! Setsuna, Sakura!!”
The kids in front him showed no fear despite his evolution and the unreasonable amount of power he threw around.
His ego was taking a lot of damage, and he targeted Setsuna and Sakura as they were still laying on the ground.
He held up his sharp claw to rip both, and as the others yelled, still feeling the damage they took… a streak of light ran through the claw.
