I’m unemployed but I’m exploring the dungeon again today – Chapter 141 – Intermission 19 – Maya Seijyu – Part two

Afterwards, it was chaos.

The seekers were freed from Charm, and remembered what happened. Furthermore, Kuroitsu reported to the seeker association, and Maya was blamed.

But that died down once her father made an appearance.

He was good friends with the previous president of the seeker association, and also knew the current one, so he could not simply be ignored.

But that did not solve everything.

Maya was sent to Kyushu as punishment. It also had ties to the Church of Minsule, so she was told to do ministry work there.

Maya quietly obeyed it.

She could not ignore her father’s orders, and more importantly, she had something to think about.

She spent the next five years there.

The dungeon in Kyushu was open to foreigners, and many migrant workers risked their lives to make money there.

There Maya, as a follower of Minsule, used the Healing Magic she received from her contact with an angel to earn many followers.

In Kyushu, she treated people differently.

She did not care about them, but began to judge what value they had, and treated them as kindly as possible.

Her appearance and the divine air to her captured the hearts of many people.

When she returned to the main office, she brought with her promising people, while promising foreigners were told to stay in Kyushu and keep working there, on stand by to make a move at any time.

Not for Minsule, but for Maya.

Maya brought two groups back, the Saintess Unit, and her personal guard.

The first thing she did upon her return was look for the brat that instilled hatred in her.

Finding him was easy, he was active in the dungeon.

But she was shocked when she went to see him. He felt stronger than before. She was surprised to see he was on par with a veteran seeker.

She did not think she would lose to him, but she could not say she would win either.

Maya was not a front liner. She had virtually no experience fighting on the front row. She still felt confident she could fight at close range better than a pro, but was still not certain she would win.

“Hello, lady from that time. Are you here for revenge?”

But still…

“You haven’t changed. You’re as unsightly as before.”

She could not contain her anger and hatred.

“And you’re still creepy. Can you go away?”

The second round started after five years.

◇ ◇ ◇

After that, they clashed multiple times, and seriously attempted to kill each other.

Both hated and would not acknowledge the other.

“Miss Maya, you have a visitor from MR factory.”

“I see. I will cleanse myself and go.”

“Yes. I will guide the visitor to the branch room.”

“Yes.”

Maya got up to take a bath.

She walked down a hall, and saw her father wearing his clergyman clothes.

“Good morning.”

“Good morning.”

Her father was growing old, but the power she felt from him grew stronger with each year.

In his hand, he held a wooden staff that was as tall as him, and a different kind of strong power from Yggdrasil could be felt from it.

There was an amber ball in its tip, fixed with vines. It was clearly an item from the dungeon.

He once said it was a gift, but it could be from that world.

“Is Daidou going to the dungeon again?”

“No, he said he was going home.”

“I see. It is rough, but unavoidable.”

Daidou was an experienced middle-aged seeker.

He was someone Maya’s father scouted and was in charge of the guards.

Maya created her Saintess Unit and her guard unit, but her father had a few people of his own. All were powerful, and while they would not disobey Maya, they would admonish her.

Maya assumed they were sent to keep an eye on her, but apparently they acted on their own.

Among them was Ichinose Rikako, who was younger than her but acted like a friend.

She would follow Maya’s commands, so while she was not worried, she struggled with dealing with her.

Charm would not work on her, and she treated her like a friend with no ill will or self-interest.

There were others like her, but their self-interest was apparent, so she could easily control them with Charm.

Maya enjoyed having her heart shaken like this for once.

“I have a visitor waiting, so I will take my leave.”

“Ah, sorry. Don’t work too hard.”

But there was no point in dwelling on it. Things were already moving.

To make her wish come true, to go to that land, she would stop at nothing, no matter how many corpses piled up.

She would move forward, hiding the wings on her back and longing to go to where she belonged.
