Hinata slowly circles as it has fun coming back down, looks surprised when it sees something, and glides towards Fuuma, who is reading manga.
“Hihin!?”
The sudden impact surprises Fuuma, who looks back at Hinata on its back like it’s asking what it’s doing.
Hinata doesn’t care, and points going kyu like it’s saying there’s a problem, as they start running fast.
What’s going on?
Well, those two shouldn’t be in danger, so I take the chair out again, sit down, and close my eyes.
Then I focus on magic energy and control it. First on my brain, and then like it’s flowing to my nerves.
As it spreads to my whole body, I picture each cell getting stronger.
What am I doing? Training to prevent my thoughts from being taken over.
I was in a pretty dangerous situation because it happened before, so I thought and thought about how to prevent it, and figured I’d just power myself up enough that my thoughts can’t be taken over.
I wondered if such a muscle head solution was good, but it should be.
It’s honestly a last resort. I couldn’t think of a good idea, so I had to go with this.
Luckily, I haven’t come across another monster like the fat one, so I haven’t had to put this training to the test.
I can only hope it doesn’t happen again.
But then what would be the point of this training? I’m still doing it because it’s showing results in other ways.
I feel like the effect of Physical Strengthening has been growing ever since I started.
It doesn’t just add to Limit Break, it’s like I have a deeper understanding of how to use it. I feel magic energy spreading more throughout my body, and I’m clearly stronger than before.
As for what else there is, this one is probably more important.
Understanding magic energy more means I feel something strange when I focus it in my body.
I say something strange, but it’s something I can file under it must be my imagination. Still, as I focus and search, I find magic energy that isn’t mine.
Three of them.
One is something familiar, the one I felt when I ate meat and my magic energy swelled.
It’s a rough and angry magic energy. It’s definitely from that sea turtle.
The other is nostalgic, sweet, and gentle. I don’t know where it came from and since when it’s here. But there’s no malice, and I just feel a little like it’s guiding me.
The third has no reaction at all.
I can feel it there, but unlike the other two, there’s no will in it. But it’s the same as the magic energy filling the forest. Maybe it’s because I’ve been living here for so long.
The first two add to my magic energy when I use it, and make it stronger.
The sea turtle one does it grudgingly, and the second is like a protector. The turtle moves when I use Amadachi, but doesn’t react at all otherwise.
After realizing there’s magic energy in me that’s not mine, I changed my approach.
I make my magic energy flow, and urge the others to join me and get along. In a way, I’m assimilating the others, but I can’t relax with other kinds of magic energy in me. Even if it’s something with good intentions.
I slowly try to get them to be mine, but don’t get a good response.
The sea turtle magic energy is angry, and the second waits and then tells me not to screw with it either. The one from the forest silently but firmly refuses.
I’ve been completely rejected, but I’m not going to give up yet. I’ll stretch my magic energy and slowly eat away at the others.
I keep my eyes closed and focus, and take the other magic energies.
I suffer internal damage because they struggle. But I still keep going, and my Spatial Grasp picks up Hinata, Fuuma, and someone else.
Hn? I turn my head, and see an unconscious man on Fuuma’s back.
