My Twin Sister Was Taken as a Miko and I Was Thrown Away but I’m Probably the Miko – Chapter 173 – Girl and Scifo’s fire magic

“Scifo, do you want to try, using fire magic together?”

“Hihihin. (Alright.)”

I’ve made up my mind to do my best, so I want to be stronger.

Freinet says I have high aptitude for wind magic, so that’s where my focus has been, but it’s not enough. I’m not as compatible with other types of magic, but I’ve been told I can still use them.

Scifo is a sky horse, but he’s a sort of mutant or variant that can use fire magic. I heard that he was abandoned by his herd because of it.

But if we weren’t abandoned by our families, we wouldn’t have met, so it makes me think that sad things like that can also be important in a good way.

Scifo starts a fire to show me an example. It’s a small fire, but since we’re in the middle of the forest it could spread and turn into a lot of trouble.

There are a lot of things around us that can burn, so we have to be very careful about using magic here.

I like this place. It’s so full of nature, and I really don’t want to see it burn.

This is part of the reason why Scifo doesn’t use his fire magic very often. He’s using it now just to show me, but we both have to be careful.

“Fire is scary…”

“Hihihi, hihin. (It’s not just fire, magic in general is scary.)”

“…Yes.”

“Hihihihihin, hihihihihin. (I think it’s good that you want to learn how to use magic, but you need to understand how scary it is.)”

“Yes, you’re right.”

I need to always keep in mind that magic is a scary thing. If someone uses magic without understanding that it’s scary, it can be very dangerous.

I need to give it my all.

Still, I would’ve never tried to do or learn something back before my family abandoned me, much less try to learn how to use a scary ability.

I’m happy, because I think I changed for the better.

I practice fire magic with Scifo.

I learned how to control my magic energy back when I started learning about wind magic, so I do better than before.

Learning how to use fire magic is easier than I expected, but controlling it is harder than controlling wind magic.

The wind blows, and I panic as the fire I lit in the palm of my hand almost flies towards the trees.

“…Fire and wind, work well together.”

“Hihi. Hihihi. (Yes. Fire becomes stronger when the wind blows.)”

“If I can use both, that will be strong.”

“Hihihihihihin? (But isn’t that sort of magic used for fighting?)”

“Yes, so I hope I don’t have to use it like that… I want to use more fire magic, but not to fight… I want to use it for things like cooking.”

“Hihihihihin. (I agree.)”

I want to polish my magic so I can protect everyone in case something happens, but I hope I don’t have to do that.

I hope I don’t have to fight, but if something does happen, I want to fight just like I told Gaius.

Still, even if I don’t want anything like that to happen, there are other humans who want to enslave anyone who isn’t human.

Also, I’m the miko, so I understand that something will probably happen eventually.

So for now, I want to do my best to increase the things I can do, and protect the life I have here with everyone.

“Scifo, you’re great at using fire magic.”

“Hihihihihin. (I’ve been using it since I was born.)”

“I’ll work hard, to be as good as you.”

“Hihihihin. (Good luck.)”

Says Scifo as he uses his magic energy to make sure fire doesn’t fly anywhere when I fail.

I think fire magic is more suited to attack, but I think it’s fun to think about how to use something like this in our daily lives. I want to talk about this with Miss Lan and Mister Sileva and come up with different ways to use it.

I really don’t want to use it on people. Just thinking about it is scary.

The same goes for magic in general, but I have to be able to do it if I have to.

I make this decision as someone who can use magic and knows how scary it is.

I want to be able to use more magic, so I don’t want to forget how scary it can be.

“Scifo, if I ever forget how scary magic is, yell at me.”

“Hihihihin. (Of course.)

I understand all of this now, but as I learn more magic, I might forget how scary it is, so I want Scifo to yell at me if that happens. He nods, and I feel relieved.

If I get off the right path, I have someone who will bring me back. I think about how lucky I am, as I finish my training with fire magic for today, and return to the village with Scifo.
