“Eh? You defeated the minotaurs?”
Yuini is surprised when we come back and report to her.
I hand her the laurel tree fruits to prove it, and she says ‘you really did it’ before going quiet. But she quickly fixes her posture and bows.
“I thank you on behalf of the people of Altair for taking down the minotaurs.”
“Well, we needed to do it for our own sake too. But… We need some laurel tree fruits, so will you sell them to us?”
“…? I spoke about this with Mia before, but those are yours.”
There are fifty-nine laurel tree fruits in front of us. Is this all for us?
Didn’t they say they had problems because their supply stopped?
I guess with the minotaurs gone, the royal guards can go get them themselves, but still…
“Then how about buying our portions? You might not be able to collect them so soon, and we have no use for them.”
Says Chris, and Rurika and Sera nod.
I guess Hikari and Mia’s portions belong to me, because they’re slaves.
“Then how about I keep ten just in case, and you buy the rest?”
“…That would be great.”
Apparently she’s paying above the market price, because Rurika, Chris, and Sera freeze when they take the money.
“What is the matter?”
“So many gold coins… I feel like my money sense is going nuts.”
Rurika looks nervous as she holds the bag with the money. Didn’t she make quite a bit of money in the dungeon too?
I think she’s exaggerating, but it really is a lot of money. Back when I first became an adventurer, I accepted a lot of delivery quests to pay for my room in the inn.
…I think it was around the time when I started selling potions that my money sense became weird… Well, not that it really matters.
Even if I start thinking things like ‘I’m gonna use this to get my dream home!’, I technically already have one in Majolica…
“Yuini, is it possible to buy a social position?”
“I don’t know. I can’t say I know a lot about it, but I could ask a civil official.”
“No, if you don’t know, it’s fine.”
And it sounds like it might take a while.
“Do you know when a boat will leave for Marte?”
“I will ask my father, he knows about your situation to a certain extent. But the last boat left just a few days ago, so you might have to wait a while.”
Yuini sounds apologetic, but I understand that they need to prepare to set sail.
I’ve also heard from sailors that visited the inn’s dining hall that the crew also works other jobs when the ship is anchored.
“Since you will be staying here, how about telling me about how you defeated the minotaurs when it is time to eat?”
We do so, but we have to be vague about Chris’ contribution.
Still, Sirk is incredibly entranced while we tell the story.
◇ ◇ ◇
We’re told the ship will be leaving in three days, and the next day, we’re taken to the audience chamber.
In this big room on the highest floor, there is a dragon enshrined right in front of us.
When Mia sees it, she immediately grabs my sleeve. I’m surprised too, to be honest.
When the door opened I just saw what looked like a black mountain, and it turns out it’s a dragon.
“Father, stop kidding around.”
Says Yuini, and the dragon starts shrinking and eventually takes human form.
“Fuofuofuo. I wanted to see the reaction of the party I have been hearing about.”
I’ve seen this person before, it was when we were training with the royal guards.
“Well then, I would like to speak leisurely, so… Will you kindly leave?”
He says, which leads to some troubled expressions around us.
I assume he wants to talk without so many people around, but I wonder…
We did defeat those minotaurs, and we have a connection to royalty through Yuini, but it feels like we’re still seen as strangers by people around us. I guess it’s natural for them to be concerned.
“Are you implying they would get the better of me?”
Asks the king, and the vassals look even more troubled.
“Father, please don’t trouble them so much. Alfriede, please stay.”
Says Yuini, and the vassals reluctantly leave. Some of them look pretty tired too.
I can imagine them being troubled on a daily basis. Or maybe it has to do with the whole situation with the minotaurs.
“Thank you for defeating the minotaurs. Very well done. I am Alzahak, the king of the Dragon Kingdom. What are your plans going forward?”
At first I don’t really understand what he means, but then I respond with what we have to do.
“We are going to deliver medicine to an acquaintance. That is the reason why we came to this country.”
“I see. And once you are done with that, you will continue looking for the missing elf?”
Three people gulp with surprise after they hear this.
I’m surprised too, but at the same time I think it makes sense that this information reached his ears.
But why is he asking? I’m more curious, and also wary of that.
“I hear you have been telling Yuini and the others about your travels, and it seems they have been enjoying it very much. Shana sounded very excited when she spoke about it.
And as I heard about it, I thought of something. There is a place you have yet to visit.”
“W-what place!?”
Rurika is the one who reacts the fastest.
I look at her face in profile, and feel something like strong impatience.
Join my patreon to support me and read ahead.
Does the dragon king have some kinda hint on where they’re friend might be.
I’m still very curious about that last dungeon floor that was sealed until Mia I hope its brought up
the cliffhanger is killing me, but I’m guessing it’s the demon country that they have yet to visit and that the elf can be found there. Either that or it’s the elf that’s at the human kingdom where the MC and the others got summoned. The one who taught the spirit user, spirit magic.
Well next chapter should be out in a hour or 2 so I’m pumped for that hopefully get some answers
Thanks for the treat.
I hope it’s not a “Bad dragon” shop
