Everyone heard my conversation with Gaius. After it was over, the beast people kids that were listening told us they would work hard with us too.
We advance while looking for a new place to live, and in the meantime, me, Gaius, Shinomi, Kayu, Ilkesai, Luceno, Lilyd, and Dandonga all exercise together to become stronger.
We need stamina if we’re going to protect everyone. If we don’t have stamina, we’re not going to be able to move when the time comes.
The boys all say Gaius’ silver ears and tail look cool. I think his brown ears and tail were fine too, but as I stare into his now silver ears and tail, I start thinking they’re even better now.
Gaius says it’s easier for him to feel magic energy now, and he can use physical strengthening magic too, but apparently the other kids don’t have magic energy, so they can’t use magic. Some of them were sad about it, but most beast people can’t use magic in the first place.
“If you can’t use it, train your body.”
I say.
“I’m not, as physically strong, as you. You should work, with that strength.”
I can use physical strengthening magic, but beast people have stronger physical abilities in the first place. When I think about it like that, I realize that Gaius is probably really strong now that he can use physical strengthening magic too.
Also, if we were all good at the same things, we wouldn’t be able to do a lot. Lately I’ve been thinking that it’s good that people are good at different things.
I’ve been learning wind magic from Freinet, but it’s even harder to use than physical strengthening magic.
Back when we were fighting the monster, Freinet helped me use it, but it doesn’t go well when I try to use it by myself. I’m a little sad about it.
I’ve also been learning about earth magic little by little from mister Sileva and the other elves. I’m worse at it than wind magic, so I guess I really do have high wind magic aptitude.
I don’t think it’s good to do lots of things at once and stretch myself too thin, so for now, my number one goal is to learn wind magic.
And by the way, Freinet is a pretty strict teacher.
“Lerunda, it won’t work like that! You have to do it like this and…”
I can tell Freinet is doing her best to teach me, and I want to do my best to learn too.
I wonder if I’m going to be able to fly like the gryphons and Scifo if I can use wind magic well. Thinking about flying with them keeps me motivated even when things aren’t going well.
“I wonder… Is there anything else I can do?”
Gaius’ change happened so quickly, he doesn’t know for sure what he can do. He knows he can more easily feel magic energy, but he doesn’t know what else changed.
“Does it feel, like you can do, other things?”
“Hn… I can feel more magic energy inside me, but I don’t know what I can do with it.”
Gaius looks troubled, and his ears and tail are drooping.
“I can’t, get the hang of, wind magic either.”
“Hm…”
“…We still need, to work hard.”
“Yes.”
Gaius agrees that we should work hard and advance one step at a time.
I talk to miss Lan too.
“Lerunda, I assume what happened is that you granted your blessing to Reimar and Gaius. I think it’s good that they have received your blessings and have been made your knights, but keep in mind that there is a limit to how many people you can turn into knights, so you should be careful about not giving too many blessings.
Of course, I’m sure there are certain conditions that need to be met, and granting blessings is probably not a simple process in the first place.”
Miss Lan told me a little bit about these blessings before, but all I really knew was that this is something that apparently I can do.
“What is that, limit?”
“That, I don’t know. It would be nice if I did, but all I read is that the ‘miko’s knights’ are limited in number, and only a few existed who received blessings directly.”
“I see.”
“That means you should think carefully before deciding to grant blessings. Still, I think it’s best if you follow your heart…”
“Yes.”
Honestly, all I did was wish and pray and changes happened, so I don’t really know how to think about this.
“I think it’s good to grant blessings to the people you like, but… There might be people out there who will want to try to win you over and put on a front while hiding their true feelings, with the intention of receiving your blessing. I don’t know how things will be in the future, but it’s probably fine now that we have few people around us. But if more people join us, there is no guarantee that they will all be nice from your point of view. We also never know if people you like and trust will stay that way forever…”
“Yes…”
It’s a difficult conversation. I don’t know if people I like and trust will stay that way forever. For example, miss Lan is very friendly with me, but could she hate me in the future? I want to think that’s impossible, but the reality is that something like this could happen.
“…I’m sorry for the complicated talk Lerunda, but it’s something that you have to think about.”
“Yes.”
“You have to keep those things in mind precisely because you’re probably the miko.”
“…Yes.”
I nod. It’s a difficult conversation, but I have to think about difficult things, since I’m probably the miko. It’s something I have to face.
I come to realize this even more as I talk to miss Lan.

Hi is there supposed to be pictures in between cause I am unable to see them
No, if you’re seeing empty space those are just ads that aren’t loading.
I think even if god descended and told her she is the Miko, she would say “the god say so, so I am probably the Miko” xD
“but keep in mind that there is a limit to how many people you can turn into knights” is there, tho.
