Walking in another world – Chapter 434 – Eliana – Part one

After checking the six people lying down, I fly to the big tree.

I haven’t been awake in a while, so my body feels heavy. And I even pushed myself to form that contract, and probably as a result of that, my hands look a little small when I look at them.

“Eliza…”

But I’m sure this is nothing compared to how Eliza suffered. It wasn’t Sora who killed her, it was us.

When I reach the big tree, I lean against it, and cry.

At the same time, I understand. Al guided them here.

One of them is a high elf. The origin of the elven race.

I don’t know if that bloodline was passed down continuously without a break, but I decided to ask her.

I might be making her carry a cruel fate, but it’s all I can do now. I resent this body for not being able to leave this place.

◇ ◇ ◇

When we descended on the land of Archa, we looked for our missing colleagues, and started preparing energy circulation facilities in case we didn’t find them.

Al and I didn’t understand anything about technology, so we went looking for the others while Eckel was hard at work with the circulatory organ.

And of course, Eckel also flew around the world with us in search of the necessary materials.

But as we did that, we found places in Archa we couldn’t enter. Dungeons. But not all dungeons, seven dungeons in particular repelled us when we tried to enter them.

Even releasing divine power did nothing. It was like they were rejecting us.

We looked for a way to get inside, but never could. After all, the changes happening in Archa meant that stopped being important.

Natural disasters were frequent, and crops stopped growing.

Living beings became less numerous, and vicious monsters increased in numbers.

At that rate, people would be wiped out, and the land of Archa itself would break and disappear.

I offered myself, and laid roots in this land. And that is the big tree in front of me now. This big tree is my real body now.

This is something I could do due to being a spirit, because spirits have a big affinity with nature.

After becoming this big tree, I absorbed magic energy around me, and sent it to the land through my roots.

By sending my divine power, my own power diminished, but I managed to stop this land from collapsing. I mixed in magic energy because I feared that sending in pure divine power all of a sudden might do more harm than good, and to keep this going for as long as possible.

But that meant I might have never made it back there,

Crossing through worlds required a tremendous amount of divine power. Moving to the top in particular needed a lot of energy. Even though going from the top, the divine realm, to the bottom, Archa, was easy.

But it would be fine if Eckel and Al went back.

Having to part with the others was sad, but it was fine if it meant saving Archa. That was what was most important for me.

That said, I still had a little hope that the world would stabilize. That it would be all right even if I didn’t send it my power, and that I would be able to go back if I slowly gathered up strength.

Me not being able to move put a bigger burden on Eckel and Al. Starting with the fact that Eckel had to look for materials alone, while Al established a country here to protect me, since I couldn’t move.

Yes, I was defenseless. I couldn’t even shoo the birds that wanted to eat the fruit.

But then I thought. If I shared just a little of my power, I could create beings to protect me.

And that was when I created underlings from the big tree’s fruit, and the moment elves and spirits were born into this world. Although apparently, spirits originally existed in Archa anyway.

I gave elves the task of not only looking after me, but to travel to various places to heal land that was in ruin. It wasn’t a task for just one person, but there were those who could do it with the help of the power of spirits.

It was a dangerous task, but I had them do it, since I couldn’t move.

This experiment gradually showed results over the course of long years.

At the same time, Al and Eckel prepared everything, and managed to stabilize Archa, stopping its collapse. It seemed they could begin looking for the other gods in earnest.

“Are you going to be all right on your own?”

In the end, Al was worried about me, sounding like an old man, but I materialized myself in my original form, and nodded. I couldn’t really talk as a tree.

But it spent a lot of energy, so I couldn’t hold it for very long. Energy conservation was important.

Al was still worried, so he told the people of his country to protect me, and left.

But as the days came and went, they never found them, even though they searched everywhere.

That left only the dungeons we couldn’t enter. In the meantime, some of the people of Archa started conquering dungeons, but I heard they found nothing in the deepest parts.

We were left with no clues, but then he appeared. One of the gods who descended on Archa, the fairy god Tania…
