A red light burst, and Yuugo emerged from it wearing Blaster.
He made use of the momentum from his run and jump, and took the initiative in punching a Bull Golem. However, it was harder than he expected, and he grimaced under his helmet at the dull feeling he got in his hand.
“Dammit! This thing’s too hard!”
The close to two meters tall muscular body was covered in the rocks of a golem.
Combining the traits of these two monsters meant Bull Golems sported very high defense, and even a punch from Yuugo at full force seemed to have little effect.
Yuugo thought about how in a way, his opponent was also wearing armor like him, and carefully observed its movements. And then, the monster armor beast howled and attacked him.
“Bumoooooooh!!”
“Fuh! Ah!”
It attacked by swinging its folded arms down in a hammer swing. A very large swing.
Yuugo easily evaded the attack and moved to the side to hit it with an elbow in the flank, and used the recoil of a front kick to take distance.
It seemed an attack to one of the parts of its body not covered in rock did damage, but… The muscles under the rock were plenty strong as well, so it was still not a very damaging blow.
Yuugo would be facing the leader next, so he could not afford to spend a lot of time with its minion.
He thought about how to take the fight in a favorable direction, and how to break down that sturdy defense of the Bull Golem, when Angel, who fought the other one, yelled.
“Yuugo! I had to rush it, but I installed the function you wanted! I think it’s the best time to use it to its full effect!!”
“Ah…!? I see! All right!”
Yuugo remembered part of the plan to strengthen Blaster he discussed with Angel, and nodded strongly.
He brought his right arm up to his eyes, brushed it lightly with his left hand, focused magic energy on it…
“Yes! A finished drill arm!”
The armor became thicker from the elbow down, and changed from a hand to a cone shape.
The metal particles gathered, and by using magic energy, they were made to spin like a drill. And after activating this new feature of Blaster, Yuugo hit the Bull Golem with that humming drill.
“Bugumoh!?”
“Hehe, how’s that? Not quite the same as the last one, uh?”
Even tough rock armor was weak against a tool made to break it.
Yuugo used the tool made for drilling as a weapon to break the prized armor of the Bull Golem, and the monster groaned in pain as if it pierced all the way to its body.
It raised its arm to try to counterattack, but… An attack from a muscle-brain that was heavily dependent on defensive power left it wide open.
Yuugo saw right through it, and precisely evaded while hitting with the drill on his right arm, and kept breaking the Bull Golem’s rocks.
“Bumo! Mooh! Mooooooh!!”
“Sounds like you’re angry about being hurt by your prey… But I’m too pissed off to care! You took lives that you just happened to see! Now feel the pain of being hunted!!”
Its armor was broken, its body pierced, and the Bull Golem completely lost its cool as it progressively got pushed back more.
It seemed maybe its pride as a male was injured by being put at a disadvantage by a smaller, supposedly weaker being, but it was nothing compared to the rage Skull felt over losing its friends.
That anger just made its attacks even more haphazard, and conversely, Yuugo kept that anger on the inside and calmly fought the Bull Golem.
The difference between their movements was clear, and the advantage Yuugo was building quickly snowballed.
“Goh, buppph! Ooooooh!!”
The rock armor on the Blue Golem was mostly shattered, and its body was out in the open.
It glared hatefully at the humming drill and Yuugo, and howled loudly as if preparing to make a last stand by clenching its fist and swinging with all it had.
“Bumoooooooh!!”
The howl shook the air, and the attack could easily crush a person’s bones if it hit directly.
But surely Yuugo would not purposefully step into the trajectory of such an obvious big swing… He took one step forward to avoid that full powered attack, and infused the drill with magic energy to deliver the killing blow and put an end to this fight.
“It’s over!! My style finishing move! Crimson Drilling Crimson Fist!!”
“Bugumoooooooh!?”
With his strength boosted by magic energy, the drill’s spin also intensified.
The right arm with the crimson shine hit the Bull Golem in the stomach, and sent the monster armor beast flying with an intense drilling that contained a lot of magic energy.
The Bull Golem was hit in vital areas after having its rock armor stripped away, and its dying screams echoed in the night after it smacked on the ground.
Its body was carved by the drill, and a lot of magic energy was infused into it through the wound, so it started shining, and immediately after, exploded.
“One down! How are you two doing!?”
Yuugo used the new feature to defeat the first monster armor beast without much of a struggle, and turned to his friends.
And when he looked at the two girls to see how they were doing against the other…
