With a loud yell, Melt slid between the Bull Golem’s legs, as Yuugo watched.
She got behind the monster, and swung two violet magic blades created by her Seward Ring.
“Mo, ooh!?”
The Bull Golem’s body was covered by a rock armor, but it had gaps.
For example, in its joints, so as not to hinder movement.
Melt used her low stance after sliding to cut behind its knees, and the monster armor beast groaned and kneeled while red blood sprayed.
The Bull Golem was collapsing, after being attacked both on one of its weak points, and by one of its weaknesses, magic energy. And after Angel moved in front of it with a giant hammer, she smashed the monster armor beast’s face with it.
“Here’s a freebie too!!”
“Bugooh!?”
The Bull Golem took a merciless full swing of that heavy hammer to the face.
Even if it had high defense, that attack had to hurt… Thought Yuugo, but it went further than that. The monster armor beast fell into a position that could be called a reverse dogeza, and stopped breathing.
“Melt! An! Are you done over there too!?”
“Easy! We’re not gonna lose to you!”
“I’m glad to see the new function I installed on Blaster helped. But let’s stop the chit-chat… We need to fight the main one.”
They beat the two minions without any problems, and turned their eyes to their leader, the biggest Bull Golem.
Skull and the guards were engaged in a fierce battle with it, but it seemed to be struggling, especially because of their numbers.
Skull’s attacks were particularly fierce, as it tried to avenge its friends. And perhaps because of the flames that the Blue Golem had a hard time dealing with, it was being completely pushed back.
If Yuugo and the others joined them, that would be the end of it, but… As they watched the battle unfold, and saw the path to certain victory, the monster armor beast decided that with its minions defeated, it was at a definite disadvantage.
Unlike the other two that lost their cool after being attacked over and over, the leader quickly decided to run for it.
“Bumoooooooooh!”
“Guhih!?”
“N-no!”
The Blue Golem put all it had into a counterattack to send Skull flying, and charged towards the guards surrounding it to force its way out.
It was on all fours, a running stance, to fight Skull, so thankfully for it, the Blue Golem quickly sped up and got further away from Yuugo and the others.
“After it! After it! Don’t let it get away! It’s going to cause a lot of damage if it reaches the settlement that’s that way!”
They could not afford to let the Bull Golem, that learned to enjoy hunting, get away. But to make matters worse, there was a settlement with a lot of people in that direction.
If it got there and started targeting the inhabitants… There would be such carnage, that they dreaded to even picture it.
The captain tried to give chase to stop that from happening, along with his subordinates on their horses, but something unexpected happened.
The horses were scared of the Bull Golem’s bloodlust, shrunk back, and refused to move.
“What?! What’s wrong!? Why won’t you run!?”
Maybe it was because it was stained with the stench of the blood of other horses, and they saw it rampage like a demon, but the horses of the guards refused to go after it.
And since they would not catch up to it without the speed of the horses, the guards were unable to chase it.
“This is bad! It’s going to reach the settlement!”
Said Melt with clear panic in her voice, as they watched the monster armor beast become smaller and smaller.
Yuugo, unable to stand still, was about to run after it, to shorten the distance as much as he could, when…
“Hihin!!”
“Uoah!? S-Skull!?”
Skull got back up, and moved in front of Yuugo to block his path.
Yuugo was surprised, and after it shook its head and pointed with its eyes to its back, it stared at Yuugo.
“…Hey, isn’t Skull telling Yuugo to ride it?”
“Eh? R-really…?”
“Bafuh!”
Skull nodded strongly and neighed, as if exasperated by how it took some time for Yuugo to understand.
Yuugo understood that letting it ride it meant Skull had complete trust in him. And after a strong nod of his own, he got on Skull’s back.
“We can’t let that monster armor beast get away. We need to stop it to avenge your friends, and protect the people over there!”
Skull neighed, as if agreeing.
Yuugo had never ridden a horse before, but decided to put his life in the hands of a friend he trusted, and glared at the Bull Golem ahead of them.
“Let’s go Skull! Let me take you for a ride!”
