Even Rommelo, who was frantically trying to take Ehn away, was surprised about her declaring she would voluntarily accompany him and let him question her.
There was a pause after Ehn’s decision to not run away, and she turned to her friend.
“Melt… You’re right, I’ll believe in myself like you said. I didn’t do anything. I didn’t mug anyone, so I don’t have to admit to anything. No matter how hard things get, I won’t run away. I’ll get through anything, for the people who believe in me!”
“Ehn…!”
“…I’m sorry for all the trouble I’ve caused. I’m very sorry for giving the cafe a bad reputation. But I…!”
“Don’t finish that sentence! I know how you feel! I’ll hold the fort until you’re back! Make sure you come back after you’ve proven you’re innocent!”
“Yes…!”
She knew she was innocent, so she would not run away.
Ehn made this decision after thinking back to Melt telling her she believed in her the previous night.
But before she went, she turned to her old friends and spoke.
“Delta, Cross… I know you’re looking out for me in your own way, but I can’t go back. I’ve decided to move forward… I’m really sorry.”
“E-Ehn…! That doesn’t make sense! Reconsider! Come with us! Okay!?”
“…Are you sure about this? Aren’t you gonna regret it…?”
“…I don’t know. But if I run away now, I’ll be betraying the people that believe in me. And that I’ll regret for sure.”
She said to Delta, who questioned her decision with a bitter expression.
Delta looked both sad and angry about that answer. But then, a sort of awkward voice that did not fit this atmosphere echoed.
“Hum… Can I…?”
Everyone turned to the entrance, and saw a young man scratching his cheek with an awkward expression.
Melt spoke for everyone as she yelled his name.
“Yuugo!? When did you get here!?”
“Right after the guards came in, I guess? I’ve been watching because it didn’t seem right to butt in. So I guess I’ve been here since pretty much the start…”
Yuugo looked even more awkward while responding to Melt.
It was hard to respond, considering the situation, but Rommelo was the first to refocus and respond to him, after clearing his throat.
“Yuugo, correct? This item found on the crime scene is yours, right? You’re coming with us too, to talk about that.”
“Of course. It’s a good citizen’s duty to cooperate with the police! But… I think that might be unnecessary.”
“What do you mean?”
He seemed to be hinting at something, and Rommelo questioned where he was going with this.
Yuugo looked around at everyone present, and responded.
“Well, someone blurted out something weird, so that caught my attention.”
“That? It stuck out to me too.”
“Jinba!? You too!? Then stop putting on airs and say who said what!”
Said Rommelo, wondering what Yuugo and Jinba were talking about.
It felt a little high-handed for a request, but Yuugo simply raised his right arm and pointed at someone.
“The person who blurted out something strange… Was you, Delta.”
“…What did I say? What are you on about all of a sudden?”
The person Yuugo pointed to… Delta, flared up at him with anger.
Everyone watched as Delta drew closer to Yuugo and yelled with a harsher tone.
“Tell me then, what did I blurt out? If I don’t like it, I’m gonna knock you to the ground, so start explaining with that in mind.”

thanks for the chapter. I saw from mangadex that you’ve also worked on a lot of manga translations is there any manga or novel you’d recommend?
If you like this, I’d definitely recommend Love Fighter Shuravan.
Thanks
