This would make his party even stronger… He thought happily, but Mizari shook her head.

“…Thank you for the invitation, but I have no intention of joining you.”

“Eh…!? W-why…!?”

Shian showed a reaction that was close to his real feelings, as this caught him completely off guard.

He was flustered, but Mizari seemed not bothered at all by it.

“If it was just a few days before, I would have gladly accepted, but… I realized through this series of events that this is not what I should do.”

“W-why? I know I’m talking about myself, but I’m called a hero prospect! I can get the academy to accommodate me over all sorts of things, and get lots of nice equipment! I’m giving you the perfect environment to get stronger!”

“You’re right, but I don’t want to just be strong. I want to be a good magic knight like my father. What I need is not pure physical strength or magic items, I learned I need inner strength.
