“Hao!!”
Hao continued running forward, not looking back at the worried Precia.
His eyes were on Shiroi, the boy being held captive in the body of the trent.
(After I get close, I’ll do something to break the restraints. I haven’t found a way yet, but I have to do it…!!)
He was mostly responsible for what happened to Shiroi, so he had to do this to make up for his failure.
No matter how dangerous it may be… It should be easy compared to fighting a monster armor beast the size of a house, like Yuugo was doing, thought Hao as he approached the trent. But of course, Narul noticed him.
“There! Like I’d let a worm get close to me!!”
“Dam…!?”
As someone who despite not being very powerful, was still aiming to become a magic knight, Hao thought he could dodge and block a little bit, but… The branch coming his way was faster than he thought.
The branch as thick as a log headed straight towards him, so Hao closed his eyes and crossed his arms to try to minimize the damage as best he could, but he opened his eyes after he heard a dull sound.
“…Good grief, it’s one after the other! Can’t you wait a little bit!?”
“Y-you!”
“Marcos!”
Marcos got in front of Hao to block the branch with his Giga Scissors before it could hit, and spoke with an irritated tone.
He swung his left arm and brushed away the branch, and Yuugo spoke with a light tone after cutting and burning another one.
“Thanks Marcos! And the villagers?”
“They’ve all been evacuated! Yuugo, don’t just fight a huge thing like this on your own! Learn to wait for backup!”
“I knew you’d come running. And you’ve come at just the right time too.”
Marcos snorted, feeling the trust from his rival.
He continued blocking multiple approaching branches with his Giga Scissors, and spoke to the dumbfounded Hao.
“Why are you standing there in a daze? Didn’t you run into this battle to do something? Then do it. If you’re scared, stand back and don’t get in my way.”
“I-I’m not standing back! I… I!!”
Hao took Marcos’ somewhat unpleasant encouragement, and took off running again.
The branches going after him were brought down by the Golden Cut, and Marcos grinned while facing Narul.
“You shouldn’t focus only on the people in front of you. Haven’t you noticed someone scarier sharpening her blades?”
Narul heard what was definitely hinting at something, and a violet light cut through the darkness of the night from above.
Melt shined in the moonlight, as multiple magic energy swords took aim and flew at Narul.
“Get her! Sword Flash!”
“Waaaaaah!?”
One, two, three, four, five… Melt controlled them as they hovered around her, and they flew towards Narul.
The swords hit not the trent’s body, but the vines keeping Shiroi restrained to the monster armor beast, freeing him.
“D-dammit!”
“Nice, Melt!”
“Hehen! Leave the backup to me!”
Melt turned to Yuugo with a peace sign after landing, and a big smile on her face.
Hao let out a sigh of relief as he caught the falling Shiroi, and Narul yelled towards him.
“You’re not getting away! Once I catch the kid again, we’ll be back at the start!”
“O-oh no!”
Hao held Shiroi and ran as fast as he could, with a branch after him.
But another shadow appeared in front of it, preventing it from reaching Hao.
“【Technician Seven Tool】, mode, tree cutting saw!”
“Gugyah!?”
There was a sound that sounded like an engine, and the branch chasing Hao was cut to pieces.
A saw… Or rather, a chainsaw was wielded by Angel who swung it and turned it back into its usual hammer form, which she used to hit Hao in the butt.
“Hold that kid tight! Don’t drop him along the way!”
“Ah? I-I wouldn’t!?”
He screamed as Angel swung her hammer after scooping him.
Hao drew a clean parabola, as he flew from near the trent and landed next to Precia. He landed flat on his butt, and laid sprawled on the ground.
“H-Hao! Are you okay!?”
“Y-yes… I strengthened my body with magic energy as I fell…”
“Hey, An! That’s a bit too violent, don’t you think!?”
“He’s fine, so it’s fine. We don’t have time to be picky, do we?”
Said Angel to Yuugo, as she switched back to a chainsaw and hit a branch.
Yuugo smiled awkwardly, and Hao yelled loudly.
“Yuugo! The hostage is free! You don’t have to hold back! Get her!”
“Hehe! You got guts, vice-president! Well then… Let’s clean this up!”
“Guh! Eek!?”
The tables were turned on Narul even after she pulled out her trump card, the trent, and her last resort, the hostage, was taken away.
Everything should have been set up in her favor, so she despaired as she saw it reversing completely. And Yuugo responded to her as his Zanma Guren Blade shined.
“You’re full from sucking magic energy from the villagers, right? I’ll treat you to a hot desert!”
“K-k-k-keep it! I don’t want it! F-f-f-forgive me!!”
Narul pleaded for her life as she saw her defeat drawing closer, but it was too late.
Yuugo infused the great sword that was bigger than him with magic energy, and jumped high with Skull.
The red hot blade shined with an even stronger crimson, and it ejected flames as Yuugo gripped it with both hands and his sights were on the trent controlled by Narul. And then…!!”
“Zanma Guren Blade. Gouka Kenran (Roaring Fire Sword Rampage)!!”
“Higyaaaaaaaaaah!?”
The mass, the sharpness, and the flames were all taken to their limit as Yuugo swung down.
A bright red line ran from the top of the trent to its roots, it was cut clean in two, and flames burst from the cuts.
As everyone looking on felt Yuugo had won decisively, Narul was ejected from the pulverized and incinerated trent, and she groaned as she landed face first on the ground.
“Ubuguu! U-uu… Aah!? S-slime fragments!? The power to make my ideal world a reality…!!”
She groaned and raised her head after a passionate kiss with the ground, and saw the viscous liquid that gave her the power of slime lose to the heat and evaporate.
Her hopes were completely crushed… She despaired and grieved with an aghast look on her face, but true fear was about to come…
“Hey, mastermind…! We got something to discuss with you…!!”
“How dare you turn into us!? It’s your fault we suffered that harassment and that weird humiliation!!”
“E-eek!? S-someone help!”
Angel and Melt’s faces twisted with anger, as they suffered a lot because Narul mimicked them. Narul tried to crawl away, but they stood in her way.
To make matters worse, as misfortunes never come alone, she had to pay for what she did. And as the two girls beat her mercilessly, Yuugo and Marcos quietly whispered.
“Ah… It’s that, you know? Take a maiden’s fury that shakes the Earth…”
“This time the culprit was pretty frightening, but she is no match for the angry flames of Melt and An. They might be stronger than yours.”
As the two boys saw an example of what happened when they were angered, they made sure to vow to themselves to never have that happen, as they nodded to each other.
Join my patreon to support me and read ahead.
That was satisfying, also one more to the band of friends.
Still wish marcos would fully transform
I did not expect the chainsaw.
