“It’s so great that you’re in a dormitory, big brother! Now you can even call people here too! I brought you some daily necessities!”
“I bought all sorts of things with Phi here. You can let out those tears of appreciation.”
Said Angel, as Phi approached Yuugo with a big paper bag and a big happy smile on his face.
There was toilet paper, soap, and also things like cups and plates that the two of them picked together.
Yuugo thanked them, and someone else showed up.
“It’s been a while, Master Yuugo. I rushed here to congratulate you after hearing about you being allowed into a dormitory. Hercus has some things to do, so I don’t think he will be coming, but… This is a small gift from me, him, and Claire. Please accept it.”
It was Mizari, who Yuugo trained, and was now politely saying hello and giving Yuugo a gift.
After seeing what looked like pretty expensive bottled juice, Yuugo thanked her and the two she mentioned, and yet more people joined them.
“I’m glad you’re in a dormitory, Yuugo~! I knew Mister Castle would take care of you~!”
“This is from all of us in the cooking club, a cooking set for beginners and some ingredients. There’s a communal kitchen in the dormitory, so how about you take this opportunity to start cooking too? Waving around a huge sword is nice, but I think guys that can handle a kitchen knife are cool too.”
Said Precia and Hao, the president and vice-president of the cooking club with whom Yuugo recently formed a bond of friendship.
Yuugo took the presents he thought were very fitting of the cooking club, and got a little excited thinking that trying to be a guy that cooks was not a bad idea.
Incidentally, Melt felt a little awkward, as she noticed she was the only one who did not bring a welcome gift.
“Thanks everyone! I’m really happy to have so many friends to celebrate with me!”
It was because his friends talked to people in charge of the school that he had a room.
Not long before this, he was abandoned by his parents as the lowest of scum, and kicked out of his dormitory… But with so many people behind him, things took a good turn.
As Uno said, he had to make sure to not betray his friends’ trust, and try even harder. And as his heart was filled with this determination, Precia checked everyone’s gifts and spoke.
“Oh dear! It looks like we have exactly what we need for a little celebration! We might as well have a party here! I’ll put my skills to use and cook something good too!”
There was the crab Marcos brought, the dinnerware Phi and Angel brought, and the juice Mizari brought. And they had two members of the cooking club who could make something simple with them.
And so, they decided to hold a party, and the girls plus Hao went to the communal kitchen to prepare the food.
The ones left in the room were the target of the celebration, Yuugo, and Phi and Marcos, because neither could cook.
Yuugo felt everyone was making too much of this, but was happy as he chatted with the other two.
“By the way big brother, what about Skull?”
“Ah, Mister Castle made arrangements for us to use a stable that’s meant to only be used by the staff.”
“That ruffian will be its boss in just a few days.”
“Make sure it’s not lonely, because Skull likes you a lot.”
“I know. I wouldn’t leave a friend feeling lonely!”
It was the same type of conversation they always had, but it felt different when it was not being held under the blue sky.
Yuugo felt emotional at the much higher level of civilization he had now that he was not camping, and Marcos spoke about something else.
“Come to think of it, classes will be starting again soon. The teachers that were injured like Mister Castle are back too, and repairs should be almost finished. I feel like we lost a lot of time, but our school life will be starting again shortly.”
“I think that’s part of why I was given this room too. Like they’re telling me to get my living conditions in order before school starts.”
“Maybe, but the biggest reason is that we have exchange students, and people here don’t want to shame the Luminous Academy.”
“Exchange students?”
This came out of nowhere for Yuugo, so he asked about it.
Marcos raised his hand a little, and spoke with a ragged breath.
“It makes sense for someone as ostracized as you to not know, but every dormitory is talking about how there are exchange students coming from the Yamato country to the east.”
“Yamato to the east…?”
“What, you forgot that too!? Seriously…!!”
It was not just the exchange students, Yuugo was oblivious about this country called Yamato as well, leaving Marcos exasperated.
Yuugo laughed, but since the girls returned with the food, they joined this conversation.
