“Don’t talk like that. Don’t stand on ceremony just because we are exchange students. It makes me nervous.”
Said Ryuuga with a smile.
Yuugo was not expecting to meet two exchange students so soon, and was pretty nervous as he introduced himself.
Hearing that name made him ask questions about a black dragon knight that jumped out of a mirror world, a nobleman of Protein that loved training his muscles, someone who inherited a golden armor with black spots… But he would annoy the exchange student if he did, because he would have no idea what that meant, and told himself that might cause an international problem.
As Yuugo suppressed his bad otaku tendencies, Ryuuga’s little sister introduced herself.
“My name is Yui. Yui Renjou. I am attending Luminous Academy with my big brother as an exchange student. Please be nice to my brother.”
“Hey hey, didn’t they just help you? Didn’t you just get lost in the academy?”
“I didn’t get lost! I was just strolling by myself!”
“Hahaha, you’re such friendly siblings.”
“I guess. And you Phi, walking to school with your big brother. You seem pretty close. I wish my sister would learn from someone who has it together like you.”
“Geez! You’re making fun of me again, big brother!”
Phi was right, they did seem like very friendly siblings.
They had about the same age gap as Yuugo and his little brother, but he thought that the tomboyish little sister and calm older brother were like the reverse of the two brothers. Then he remembered the rumors about Ryuuga.
“Ah, hum… What should I call you? You’re both Renjou.”
“Just call me Ryuuga. We are both in the first year of high school, right? Two people in the same year don’t need formality.”
“Thanks! I heard you’re the strongest swordsman in your school in Yamato? Are you super strong!?”
“He is! My big brother is really strong! Strong enough to become the best here in the Luminous Academy!”
“Ooh, awesome…! So that title wasn’t just for show…!”
“Ahh… Yuugo, don’t just take what my sister said at face value. Yui likes to exaggerate.”
Yui answered Yuugo’s question while stretching her arms widely, much to the exasperation of her older brother.
“But my big brother is really strong! He solved a few incidents here, and beat a bunch of monster armor beasts! He’s a super strong hero!”
“Oh, really? But I don’t think he’s a match for my big brother Ryuuga. He has command over the sword schools of lightning, wind, and water. He is an exceptional swordsman!”
“My big brother Yuugo uses all sorts of functions of his Blaster to fight. And his fire attribute is incredibly strong!”
“Well my big brother…”
“Yui, that’s enough. I’m getting embarrassed.”
“You too, Phi. Don’t just get worked up by yourselves.”
Things were getting heated between Phi and Yui as they bragged about their brothers, and they had to put a stop to it.
Both smiled awkwardly, and spoke about their cute siblings.
“Sounds like you’re really respected. Phi is a good little brother, but I feel like you’re just as good of a big brother.”
“And it sounds like Yui really trusts you. And it doesn’t feel like she’s exaggerating about your strength.”
Yuugo had been feeling for a while now that Ryuuga was far from average.
He had not yet seen his skills with a sword, but he could still feel that kind of aura around him.
“…I am interested in your power. It makes me want to have a match sometime.”
“Hahaha, well, it will happen eventually. We’re in the same year, so that opportunity might present itself.”
Yuugo heard what was basically a challenge to a duel, but since he did not really like fighting, he waved it off with an awkward smile.
Then Ryuuga extended his right hand, and he grabbed it in a firm handshake.
Ryuuga Renjou… An exchange student from Yamato, and the strongest swordsman.
Although not as much as Ryuuga, Yuugo was interested in seeing how strong he was. And as they faced each other, Uno suddenly appeared.
“Renjou, did you find your sister?”
“Ah, Mister Castle. I apologize for bothering you. Yes, I did.”
“That’s nice… Hm? The Clay brothers? Why are you here?”
“Ah, hi Mister Castle.”
It seemed Uno was also looking for Yui.
Yuugo figured he might be responsible for showing the exchange students around, and Ryuuga explained that Yuugo found his sister.
Uno nodded and then turned to Yuugo.
“This is good timing, Clay. Ah, the older Clay, I mean. I need to speak with you.”
“Eh? Me?”
“Yes. Come to the third training ground after classes are done today. I will tell you more then.”
“Got it… The training ground after class…”
Yuugo did not really understand, but repeated what Uno said.
Then he nodded, and Uno continued.
“There you have it. I will guide the Renjou siblings, so you two better run off to school. You don’t want to be late.”
“Yes! Got it! Excuse us!!”
After a bow, Yuugo walked to the school building with Phi.
As they watched them leave, Yui turned to Ryuuga.
“Big brother, that person is incredibly strong. The strongest of all the students I’ve known. Maybe even as strong as you.”
“…Yes. That’s the feeling I got.”
Ryuuga smiled warmly as he agreed with his sister.
He was very interested in this boy he just met, and mumbled these feelings.
“Yuugo Clay… Just how strong are you? What kind of man are you… I want to find out.”
“Fufufu! You look so amused! Are you that interested in Yuugo?”
Ryuuga glanced at his sister, who looked happy, and responded with an amused smile.
“Yui… Don’t ask me questions when you already know the answer.”
“Fufu! It’s perfect! It sounds like school life here is going to be even more fun than I thought, big brother!”
Said Yui, sounding like she understood what her big brother meant.
Then the siblings followed Uno, as he guided them through the academy.
