They jumped straight towards the unprotected back of gigantes, who was still punching the barrier, and swung their swords at it.
“Seihaaaah!!”
“Haah!!”
“Gohh!? Gaaah!?”
Gigantes bent its back and screamed, as it suffered an attack it did not expect.
It shifted targets from the barrier to the two who attacked it, and swung its giant fists at Yuugo and Ryuuga after they landed, but they quickly dispersed and dodged.
“Too slow you big idiot!!”
“Giiiyaaah!!”
Yuugo kicked gigantes’ right arm, jumping all the way to its face to swing his sword at it.
The pain and loss of vision from being cut in an area as vital as its eye made it hold its face, while Ryuuga went around to its back and slashed the back of its knee.
“Tempest Loong Sword, Wind Form ・ Gale Slash!”
“Guhgiiiih!?”
The goal was not to bring it down, but to bring it to one knee, which was wonderfully accomplished.
Despite its weak defense, gigantes was still protected by thick skin and flesh, and after slashing through it regardless, Ryuuga stood in front of his enemy.
Gigantes once again tried to hit him with its fist, but… What it felt in its hand was hard and dull.
At the same time, gigantes’ vision blurred due to the heat from the crimson flames that enveloped its right hand, and it let out a scream that was about as loud as its Howling.
“Guoooooooooooh!? Gyaoooooooooh!?”
“Thanks for covering for me, Yuugo.”
“Eh! You could’ve dodged it just fine…!”
Yuugo snorted, responding to Ryuuga after making his large sword red hot… Holding it like the Zanma Guren Blade, and using it to block gigantes’ attack.
(Keeping up with me while wearing that heavy armor is surprising enough, but matching that giant monster’s power and being clever enough to think of a way to use its attack to hurt it on the spot… He is extracting more power from that magic item than should be possible given its abilities. I have never seen such a user even in Yamato.)
There was the fact that it was not using its lower body, and instead punching only using the power of its arm, but gigantes was nevertheless more than a big enough threat, given its strength and size.
Yuugo did not budge after taking that attack, and went beyond simply blocking. Ryuuga had nothing negative to point out in Yuugo’s fighting senses, as he unleashed the fire element of his sword and damaged his enemy despite being on the defense.
More importantly, despite facing an unquestionably strong opponent, he showed no hesitation to face it to save someone. Ryuuga’s heart heated up as he saw Yuugo’s earnestness and strength, while Yuugo himself was also surprised by Ryuuga’s strength.
(That was more than fast. And that slash was so powerful too. And he’s so relaxed… He’s definitely not serious yet, is he? Just how used to fighting is this guy…!?)
His speed, his pace, the sharpness of his swing, the precision with which he detected and hit a weak point… Everything far surpassed any person or monster armor beast he had faced.
It was immediately clear by the way he showed no fear in approaching a giant monster and majestically swung his sword that he was used to fighting. And he appeared to not be using his full strength yet, so Yuugo keenly felt the power of the one called the strongest swordsman.

“I’m happy to hear that from the one called the strongest swordsman. But let’s talk later.”
“Yes, you’re right… Let’s finish this, Yuugo!”
They acknowledged each other’s strength and praised each other… And faced the groaning gigantes.
Both held up their weapons and infused them with magic energy, readying to unleash an attack that would put a full stop to this battle.
“Zanma Guren Blade… Full flame!!”
Yuugo held his crimson burning blade over his head, and filled it with magic energy.
Hot, hot… The flames of Zanma Guren Blade rose up high enough to scorch the ceiling, as if the fire in Yuugo’s heart was transferred directly to it, while Ryuuga silently also infused magic energy.
“Shiiiiiiih…!”
He put his sword back in its scabbard and lowered his posture, taking deep breaths as his magic energy intensified.
Golden electricity sparked around him as he took an iai posture, and his intensity rose in contrast with how quiet he was.
“Gah, oh, ooh…!”
After having its eye cut by Yuugo, gigantes’ remarkable vision had deteriorated, making it unable to see what was to come very well, but that might have been a stroke of luck for it.
It meant it didn’t have to see the flames burning intensely enough to burn the ceiling, and the moment the lightning that made the ground buzz was unleashed. Two things that surely brought with them its death.
Yuugo swung the sword and its explosive flames down. Ryuuga opened his eyes, unsheathed his sword, and lightning rose from the ground to the ceiling.
The flames and lightning joined together, creating one attack that carried their full power and hit gigantes.
“That will finish it. Fusion Finisher, Inazuma Flame Slash!!”
“Ogoaaaaaaaaaah!! Gyaaaaaaaaaaah!?”
Gigantes was still kneeling on the ground, when its body was slashed in two by the incoming attack.
It let out its final scream as the flames and lightning scorched its body, and quickly disappeared.
“…Eh? Aren’t you supposed to have trouble with lightning? What’s with that huge lightning?”
“And you Yuugo, you said you needed my power… But you could have won on your own, couldn’t you? You seemed very relaxed.”
“Right back at you. Who said it would be a daunting task?”
After checking that their opponent had been completely defeated, Yuugo and Ryuuga spoke to each other, still in the poses they pulled while executing their attacks.
Both then suddenly smiled, and silently shook hands after standing up straight, sharing the happiness of their victory.
