Whispered Yuugo while looking out the window at the blue sky, and he turned around while asking himself how many times he was going to ask that same question.
He sighed, and looked at the calendar above his desk with a dejected expression.
A week had passed since the incident in the insectary… A short time that felt like a lot.
Phi’s wounds were not serious, and he woke up shortly after being taken to the hospital. But he was admitted to the hospital just to be safe, and was not back yet.
Yuugo visited every day, checking on his condition and talking to him.
Yui, who was with him when the monster armor beast attacked, and Ryuuga, Yuugo’s roommate, also visited, and thanked Phi.
Yuugo was relieved that his little brother’s condition was not serious, but could not help but be worried.
As for Egos, he was suspended, and Uno said his punishment would be decided later, but that mattered little now.
Phi’s injury cast a shadow on the hearts of many people, with Yui being the most affected. She suffered with the fact that Phi got hurt protecting her.
Ryuuga was concerned about his sister, and left to go spend the day with her.
Yuugo was told he could not see Phi that day since he would be examined, and was lost in thought alone in his room.
“If we trace it back to the start, it’s my fault he got hurt… If I had worked things out a little better, this wouldn’t have happened…”
This happened because Egos selfishly plotted revenge and thought to use Phi.
But it was Yuugo (the original) who got Phi roped into it. Had it not been for his behavior labeling him the lowest of scum, things might not have derailed so much,
It was most likely that reputation that led the hero prospects to treat Yuugo with more hostility than they would otherwise.
Not that it was not too much regardless, but… Perhaps if he earned more trust from the students around him, this would not have happened.
He wondered if Phi would not have gotten hurt if the students he saved during the test in front of the combat miko helped. If he worked more to clean away that bad reputation.
Yuugo was shocked as he thought that him being too indifferent and not attempting to fix his reputation came back to bite not him, but his dear little brother, and he turned his face to the door when he heard a knock.
“Ryuuga? Did you forget something?”
He opened the door while speaking to his partner, who just left, but his eyes opened wide when he saw who actually knocked.
He watched her pure white hair moving, and her all too beautiful face smile, and looked at her while tilting his head a little.
“Hello Yuugo. I’m sorry to drop by unannounced.”
“Setsuna Kogarashi…? Why are you…?”
It was the combat miko who spoke to him the day of that incident. Yuugo was surprised to see her there with no forewarning, but let out a small sound when he remembered she expressed her wish to speak to him before.
He promised to do it some other time, but he was so preoccupied with Phi that it completely slipped his mind. This left him flustered, but Setsuna spoke with a light tone.
“I’m sorry, but can I hide here? I’m being chased by some annoying people.”
“Y-yes… Sure, but…”
“Thank you. Excuse me.”
Yuugo invited Setsuna into his room, who seemed troubled about something.
She looked around with a curious expression, and Yuugo turned to her with a question.
“What do you mean chased by annoying people? And why did you come to my place…?”
“Hero prospects, is what they are called, right? They won’t stop inviting me, and it’s annoying. They wait for me outside the dormitory, go to where I want to go ahead of me… So stubborn. I don’t want to spend my time with people that don’t interest me. In fact, after seeing how another hero prospect, Egos, behaved, I can’t see anything good coming from getting involved with the likes of them.
So I was wondering where I could hide from them…”
“And you came here?”
“Yes. Well, I wanted to talk to you anyway, so it’s perfect, isn’t it?”
It seemed Setsuna did not decide to invade after getting tired of waiting for Yuugo to call her.
Yuugo let out a sigh of relief at that, and Setsuna spoke quietly.
“…I’m glad your little brother wasn’t badly hurt. He’s in the hospital, but he will be leaving soon, right?”
“Did you look into that? Into Phi?”
“Well, I did. I was wondering about his condition, and I was also curious about the people around you. But there is a lot I want to talk about, and I don’t like being roundabout, so I will go right into it.”
Said Setsuna while undoing the buttons of the upper portion of her uniform.
She took off enough to show the white shirt underneath it, and this surprised Yuugo so much that he asked questions without thinking.
“Eh? Wha!? What are you thinking!? Go right into what…?”
“Fufufu…! Don’t put up your guard like that, relax. I’m sure it won’t take you long to enter a trance…!!”
Setsuna seemed to be hinting at something, as she grabbed the upper part of the uniform.
And right in front of a stunned Yuugo, she stripped it off, and…
