“You’re here again, Sakura?”
“M-Miss Mary!”
Everyone turned to the girl who suddenly entered the conversation.
This girl called Mary, that had short brown hair and a stern feeling to her across the board, seemed to know Sakura, but spoke to her with a harsh tone.
“And you brought friends with you? Just how hard are you trying for that guy?”
“Yes, but also no. It is not just for Mister Goto, but also for your sake that I want you to leave this meeting. So…!”
“You can say that as many times as you want, but all you’re accomplishing is being a nuisance! Go away already!”
“…Don’t you think this is going in a much different direction than we thought?”
“Apparently. We should hear more about this from her.”
Judging by Sakura’s response, it seemed she was not there out of sympathy for Black Veil. But the question of why she decided to participate in the meeting remained.
Yuugo thought they had to not only hear what Sakura had to say to clear things up, but also this girl that barged into this conversation, Mary. And so, he interjected.
“Hum, excuse me? Sorry for butting in, but can you tell us more about this?”
“Ah? And why do I have to do that for you? The meeting is about to start, so obviously my focus is on… Wait, damn!!”
Mary responded with a stern expression, but it turned into a flustered one.
As Yuugo thought, both Mary and Sakura, who also looked flustered, grabbed his head and forced him to face down.
“Eh? What!? What are you doing!?”
“Just shut up! If you don’t, it’s going to be a problem!”
“S-Setsuna, all of you hide your faces too, and be quiet!”
Everyone was wondering what was going on, but the two girls’ frantic attitude told them this was not a joke, so they decided to do as they said.
Yuugo’s neck hurt because they were pressing his head down, but he noticed someone he recognized as he could just barely see what was around him, and gulped.
(Is that Shian…? Why is he here…!?)
Someone called a hero prospect with whom Yuugo had a pretty bad relationship, Shian.
Yuugo was surprised to see him among the ones taking place in this meeting of the Friends of the Night Society.
It seemed Melt was right about students of Luminous Academy going there. Yuugo saw it with his own eyes, and Sakura and Mary finally released him.
“It’s okay now. Geez, what a pain…!”
“…I’m sorry about that, but I have even more questions now. Can we go somewhere else and talk?”
“Eeh? Ahh… Okay.”
“Miss Mary! Are you sure?”
“They know you and want to take you out of here, right? That’s pretty good news for me, but if I attend the meeting alone, those people from before are going to attack me with questions about where you went. In any case, it’s no time to go to the meeting, so I might as well go with them.”
Yuugo and the others listened to Mary’s clear reasoning, which was quite easy to understand.
They were going to take Sakura away from this meeting and hear about what was going on, the only problem was where to do it.
“What do we do? We can’t take outsiders to a dormitory, but this isn’t the kind of conversation to have by the side of the road either.”
“Hm… Where then… Ah!”
Yuugo tried to come up with a nice quiet place where all these people could sit and talk, and a flash of lightning ran through his brain.
He snapped his fingers, and turned back to the others.
“I know just the place!”
◇ ◇ ◇
“…Sorry Ehn, I know this is sudden.”
“It’s okay! The owner will be happy that you brought a lot of customers too, and I also had something to talk about!”
Not long after, Yuugo and the others arrived at the place he said was perfect for them to talk, the cafe where Ehn worked.
After talking to her and the owner of the place, who they met during a prior incident, they got seats for them and coffee to drink while they listened to Sakura and Mary.
“Let’s talk. How did you become close to the Friends of the Night Society?”
“The same way you did. This idiot attended to try to pull me away from Black Veil.”
The question was directed at Sakura, but Mary responded with an exasperated expression.
Sakura also sighed, and told the story of how they got there.
