“What…?”
Glonas sounded quizzical after Yuugo suddenly appeared and asked him a very sudden question.
Yuugo cared little about his reaction, and continued.
“You must get it from looking at Mary too, right? She’s pretty trapped by her mother’s death. Living with that pain and hatred all this time. But… She finally managed to rid herself of it. And tell her father how she felt.”
Yuugo stopped for a little sigh.
Glonas still looked as though he had no idea what he meant, and Yuugo continued.
“Did you know? Apparently people have pasts they absolutely should not abandon. For Mary, that wasn’t revenge, it was the happy memories of her family. I’m sure that past gives her hope. She chose to abandon revenge in favor of living for the future, so don’t get in her way.”
“That’s what you say after appearing so suddenly… You want to beg for your friend’s life? It doesn’t matter what you say. She is an evil that betrayed us and Black Veil! Justice needs to be executed upon evil!! I will pluck the future of criminals who made the wrong choice!!”
Glonas’ response was full of madness.
Yuugo heard the yell of the monster armor beast, and responded while looking directly at it.
“I can’t change the past. I can’t bring the dead back to life. I can’t bring back Mary’s lost happiness… But… I can protect the happiness that exists now.”
Yuugo tilted his head back a little, and smiled as he watched Mary walk with her father.
He faced forward again, and spoke towards the bloodthirsty Glonas, with his pride as a hero in his heart.
“If you’re trying to pluck away the happiness they grasped, I’ll do everything to stop you. That’s my role.”
“I carry justice and righteousness! Compared to that, two people’s happiness is small and fragile!! Protecting that is ridiculous…!!”
“You don’t get it. It’s exactly because it’s small and fragile that it needs to be protected.”
Yuugo clenched his left fist with a daring smile.
He poured magic energy into his bracelet that shined with a crimson light, and as Glonas let out a shrill sound and attacked, Yuugo yelled the word that signaled the start of the battle.
“Henshin!!”
From the left wrist to the whole body, a crimson line supplied by magic energy ran through him.
A black iron armor was deployed along this line, and as Yuugo transformed into the protector of happiness, Glonas ran straight towards him and swung his sharp claws.
“Shaaaah!!”
“Fuh, ahh!”
Yuugo stopped that attack while Glonas’ arm was still held up high, with a punch to the stomach.
The dull impact made him groan and stagger, and the kick that followed sent the man transformed into a black crow monster armor beast flying helplessly towards a wall.
“Gah! Guha…! This power…!?”
“Puha! Mister Yuugo!!”
Glonas groaned with pain and kneeled, and Sakura fiercely fought back as she noticed his weakened power meant the binds loosened.
She was finally free, and transformed into her combat miko outfit. She ran towards Yuugo with her naginata in hand, as Yuugo remained cautious and gave instructions.
“Sakura, I’ll take care of this, so go look after Mary and Goto.”
“Understood! But… If the one who controlled the Friends of the Night Society is not Black Veil, who is…?”
Sakura encountered Black Veil before, and was surprised to see Glonas transformed into a different monster armor beast.
If he was not Black Veil, who could be the twisted executor of justice… Yuugo responded to her whisper.
“I think you’ll know tomorrow. Right now… Ryuuga is probably fighting Black Veil.”
