Raiha yelled almost at the same time as the roof collapsed.
Everyone froze, unable to deal with this sudden occurrence, but the thing that collapsed the ceiling and fell slowly got up.
“Gi, giiga, giga…!!”
The monster that let out that strange screech was like the flower monsters, but a lot different.
Its body was also composed of thorny shrub, but unlike the unstable thin bodies that swayed as they walked, this one was even more similar to a person.
The bombs attached to the face were no more, and it had clear facial features.
It had a square head that looked as though it was wearing a hoodie, making it very squid-like, and its sharp bright eyes had brutality behind them… But what really caught the eyes of Yuugo and the others was the giant flower in its stomach.
Rather than abs, it had a bright red flower, and a few people noticed it looked close to an exprose.
The monster armor beast got up and faced them, standing tall in front of them.
“Gigu, gugi, gigi…!!”
“What? Something… Watch out…!!”
Peewee watched its movements, and felt something was not right.
The moment the hole in the middle of the flower opened and she saw something being fired, she yelled loudly at everyone.
“Get down!!”
She activated magic as she yelled, creating a wall that protected everyone.
It was hastily put together, but better than nothing… She thought as she made it, and squinted and groaned when the impact came soon after.
“Guh, ah…!”
I knew it, she thought.
That monster armor beast fired the weapon of an exprose, a bomb fruit… It was originally something it created to protect itself, so she was surprised by this evolution that allowed it to fire bombs like bullets, but something surprised her even more.
“Are you okay, Peewee!?”
“Y-yes, somehow.”
The crimson flames in front of her. These came not from the monster armor beast’s bomb, but from Yuugo’s armor, who moved in front of her before she could tell.
She watched the flames flutter like a scarf, and knew he stepped forward and put himself in risk to protect others.
“I should ask you! Weren’t you hit with that bomb directly!?”
“Ah? Yes, but it didn’t do as much damage as I thought. Don’t worry.”
“You took reduced damage because that bomb had the fire element, the same as your flaming armor! But it won’t kill the impact completely, so watch yourself!”
It seemed Yuugo saw the monster armor beast getting ready to attack, and immediately moved to protect Peewee.
He activated the flaming armor that excelled in mobility, and managed to block the bomb while taking reduced damage.
“Why didn’t you attack it? It was focused on us, so you could’ve taken the opportunity to strike it.”
“Heroes don’t fight to defeat enemies, they fight to protect what’s important. If I took advantage of the opportunity and defeated it, it wouldn’t mean anything if people got hurt.”
Yuugo responded to Peewee’s question promptly.
The impact she felt on her wall told her that had it not been for him using himself as a shield, there could have very well have been casualties. She silently thanked Yuugo, and focused on re-setting the wall.
“Guah!? T-this thing’s strong!”
“Velda, stand back! It can also absorb the impact of hits, so it’s a terrible opponent for you!”
Velda attacked the monster armor beast from behind as Yuugo protected the others, but was hit back.
It seemed that like the flower monsters, it had an elastic body that absorbed hits.
Velda was mainly a brawler, and he clenched his fists in frustration over facing an opponent that pretty much nullified his attacks.
“What is with that monster armor beast? Is it a new one?”
“No, it’s probably an evolution. It evolved just before its whole body was frozen, to survive. The monster armor beasts that defeated us in the insectary were like that too, right?”
Velda groaned, and Peewee responded with a cold sweat.
The siblings that made them taste bitter defeat also crossed over to level two when they were on the brink of defeat.
So basically, the monster armor beast in front of them was an evolved gigantrose… And as Peewee understood that this was basically the level two of gigantrose, Yuugo exhaled.
“Sorry Velda, but tell everyone outside what’s going on with the communications device. Raiha and Peewee, set up walls and take care of defense.”
“Yuugo…”
“What are you going to do, big brother…?”
“Don’t worry, I’ll protect everyone.”
Yuugo gave others instructions, and reassured Phi and Yui with a thumbs up, before facing the evolved gigantrose again.
He undid the flaming armor transformation, reverting to his normal form, and took a few steps. And as he stood right in front of the monster armor beast, his magic energy surged again.
“Super henshin…!!”
As the magic energy blew fiercely, Blaster’s metallic particles covered his whole body.
He was clad in thick violet armor, and glared back at the gigantrose while howling with his fighting spirit swelling.
“Let’s go, squid thing. Try and stop me if you can!”
