“Giryuioooooooooo!!”
The gigantrose took Yuugo’s bait, and let out a piercing cry.
Phi and the others watched from behind, and trembled as the scream made the air vibrate.
“First he had the fire element, and now he has a heavy armor form? How many features did Yuugo pack into his Blaster?”
“Nevermind that, is he… Provoking that monster armor beast head on!? That’s crazy!!”
“But if he fights by using his mobility to fly around, it will fire bombs at us. Yuugo is purposefully taking it all to prevent that.”
If Yuugo was going to fight the gigantrose that had a powerful long range attack, it would be most effective to dodge them.
But he had to protect the people behind him. If he dodged, they would take the damage.
Yuugo understood this very well, which was why he chose to face it head on and take its attacks. And Raiha knew this was the reasoning behind changing to the violet armor that excelled in defense.
Peewee closed her mouth for a moment, and then mumbled while looking at Yuugo’s back.
“That’s crazy. No matter how confident he is in his defense, he’s not going to hold if he keeps getting hit with those bombs from up close!!”
“It’s okay, my big brother won’t lose! He’s doing to beat that for sure!”
No matter how solid his defense was, the bombs carried considerable destructive power, and taking a barrage from a short distance would cause a lot of damage.
Peewee thought blocking the attacks on his own was reckless, but Phi looked on with absolute confidence as he remembered his big brother’s strong words.
And as they watched, the two fighters moved.
“Giiih! Gihh!!”
“Guuh!!”
Yuugo groaned upon suffering a direct hit from a bomb shot from the flower in the midsection of the monster armor beast.
Then came another, and another explosion, but Yuugo continued on his way towards the gigantrose.
Yuugo charged forward while taking the bombs spat out, and the gigantrose hastened its barrage, scared of Yuugo’s indomitable charge.
“Gigyaaah!! Gigigiiiiih!!”
“Uooooooooooh!!”
Yuugo took a step forward, purposefully unguarded, then another, as if showing off his presence and intimidating air.
The closer he got, the shorter the time between bombs. The sound of explosions continued to echo intermittently, and Velda and the others watched on with a flustered feeling that approached anger.
“Dammit! I can’t just watch! I gotta go help…!”
“No! If you move out, the monster armor beast’s sights will move away from Yuugo and hit the people behind us! Think about why Yuugo is being so rash!”
“Guuh…! Dammit!! So we can only watch!?”
Moving out carelessly would only widen the damage and render what Yuugo was doing pointless. Velda howled with frustration as he heard this, and punched the floor.
All they could do was trust Yuugo, but doing nothing was frustrating. And Yui spoke to Phi out of consideration, feeling his tense expression as he watched his older brother.
“Phi…”
She put her hand over his clenched fist, and Phi spoke as he watched the fight.
“It’s okay, my big brother said heroes show their true power when they protect something important…! Right now he’s protecting a lot of people, so he’s not going to stop or give up. He’ll protect everyone, so…!!”
The barrage of bombs was now accompanied by thick thorny shrubs striking like whips, but Yuugo was undeterred.
If he stopped, important people behind him would be hurt. If he gave up, people he wanted to protect might lose their lives.
And so, the idea of giving up or stopping never crossed his mind.
Hero condition number one… Never give up.
Especially in front of people who believed in him, were the words Phi remembered as he yelled with absolute trust.
“My big brother… Is a hero!!”
“Giigaaaaaaaaaaah!!”
Neither the scream of the monster armor beast or the air-shaking explosion could drown out that voice.
Yuugo heard his little brother’s yell, and took a step forward in response. As the gigantrose was backed against a wall and unable to move, he spoke to it.
“Hey squid thing, are you done yet? Then… It’s my turn!”

It took me quite a while to notice this, but consider that the MOTW is squid like and generate explosive from stomach, and coupled with how our hero don violet armor and tanking its bomb while walking towards it, it’s safe to say that the MOTW is based on Me·Geega·Gi and Yuugo just reenacted the climax of Kuuga episode 10.
