“Gih, gagih, gah…!?”
“Yeah, right? You can’t use your bombs when I’m this close, can you!?”
The gigantrose was somewhat more intelligent than the flower monsters it spawned.
Evolving meant it gained some intelligence, and it understood the dangerous situation it faced.
It was within Yuugo’s reach, so if it fired a bomb… It would also feel the blast.
It was unfortunate for the monster armor beast, that it had to face an opponent it could not take down with its biggest weapon in its first fight.
That Yuugo, someone who defied common sense by charging forward while taking the bombs, was there.
“Shrrrah!!”
With its biggest weapon unusable, the gigantrose attacked with the thorny shrub whips on both arms.
It struck Yuugo’s cheeks, strangled him, and hit his torso, but… All of it was weaker than the bombs, and none of it could be a decisive blow.
Yuugo silently took a step forward, then another, as the gigantrose felt fear… And Phi’s voice echoed behind Yuugo.
“Big brother! Use this!!”
Phi took a knife a nurse had, and asked Velda to throw it to Yuugo.
The knife infused with the lightning attribute by Raiha flew straight towards Yuugo, who caught it.
“Thanks Phi… Are you ready for this?”
“Gih, gah…!?”
Yuugo transformed it into a straight sword, and the gigantrose groaned with fear as it saw the shining gold double-bladed sword, and the electricity running through it.
Dodge or block, it hesitated to pick one and did neither as Yuugo thrust the sword gushing with electricity straight at the monster armor beast.
“Uoooooooooooo!!”
“Gugah!?”
The gigantrose absorbed impacts with its soft body, but it had a clear weakness. The giant flower that fired bomb fruit, and more specifically, its core.
The golden tip pried open the closed entrance, and the blade pushed in, piercing the body of the gigantrose.
It stumbled and spasmed, and bent backwards, staying there as electricity and magic energy were poured into it and Yuugo yelled.
“Rising… Calamity Crash!!”
“Gagya, gaaaaaaaaaah!!”
The gigantrose was roasted from the inside by the magic energy and electricity, and its final scream echoed throughout the hospital.
When it eventually overloaded, it shined, and was spread in all directions with a small explosion.
“Hey, what happened!? What was that explosion? Report!!”
“…It’s okay, it’s over. Yuugo defeated the monster armor beast. No one is hurt. The threat has been eliminated.”
Jinba was startled, as he could not see what was happening, but Peewee reported back after a sigh of relief.
Upon hearing this, the people seeing it unfold also internalized what happened, and let out a cheer.
“Big brother, are you okay!?”
“I’m okay. It hurts a bit, but I just have to rest for a while and I’ll be all better!”
As everyone felt relieved that the threat of the monster armor beast had passed, Phi ran straight to his older brother.
Yuugo gave him a thumbs up, and showed he was well.
The damage was reduced quite a bit, but suffice to say, the close range barrage of bombs had an effect. However, Yuugo understood that making it appear not so was something a hero had to do, and put on a brave front to reassure his younger brother.
“Thanks Phi. Your voice reached me.”
“Hehehehehe…!”
Yuugo left his Blaster on, since the pain would show on his face, and thanked his brother to take attention away from it.
He pat Phi’s head clumsily with his armor clad hand, and Phi smiled as his face turned red.
And as this charming brotherly scene unfolded, the others walked towards them.
“Thanks Yuugo. We caused you a lot of trouble, uh?”
“You did a lot to solve this incident, including collecting the bombs.”
“I told you, didn’t I? It wasn’t just me. Hero condition number five…Take your partners’ hands, and be someone who fights alongside them. This worked out because you reached out to help. If anything, you’re the heroes.”
Yuugo showed sharp moves, from the onset of the incident, to bomb collecting duty, to protecting everyone from the level two monster, but he did not brag, and instead thanked the others for their cooperation.
Velda and Peewee were still not used to this change, and Yuugo continued.
“This was the main body or something like that of the flower on the roof, right? If it was, then the threat has been completely eliminated, right?”
“I think so. Now the incident is truly over.”
The bombs around the hospital were collected, and its creator, gigantrose, was beaten.
All they had to do was wait for rescue operations, and leave.
“…I’ve been thinking about the timing of this monster armor beast’s appearance.”
“Stop it right there Velda. What if you raise a flag?”
Yuugo laughed as Peewee interjected sharply.
But it seemed those fears were unfounded, as everyone thought no more accidents would happen, with the monster armor beast eliminated.
Yuugo felt he had been inside his Blaster for too long, and people could not relax around him like that, but as he was about to undo the transformation…
“…!?”
A strange feeling ran through his body.
It was as though something nearby began to pulsate, and he was not the only one to feel it. The others seemed to feel it as well.
They recognized quite clearly the feeling of magic energy swelling, and looked to where they felt it from.
What they saw was the bundle of gigantrose fruits. All of them shining red as they pulsated, and everyone gulped.
