“Hey, hold on… Don’t those bombs look weird!?”
“Are they set to self-detonate in case the monster armor beast that created them is defeated…!?”
“The magic energy is rising really fast. At this rate…!!”
This clearly abnormal situation blew away the relaxed atmosphere of just a few seconds before, replacing it with panic.
The people awaiting rescue also felt the magic energy rising, and the tension spread.
“Jinba! Do you still not have a hole for us to escape!?”
“Don’t ask the impossible! Removing the thorny shrub takes time! It’s not something you can just do immediately!”
“Dammit! At this rate, it’s better to blow a wall from the inside and make an exit!!”
Judging by the magic energy rising in the bombs, they had less than a minute left.
It seemed like not enough time to make a hole for everyone to escape.
They had to figure a way out, and Velda attempted to brute force it by attacking a wall or a door… But the thorny shrub outside hindered an escape from the inside.
The guards worked as fast as they could, but there was no way they would get through in such a short amount of time.
“Everyone fall back! Get down and behind me!!”
Yelled Raiha, deciding there would not be enough time to escape.
She used her full power to erect a barrier in front of the panicking people to somehow reduce the damage, and she was helped by Peewee.
They mustered up all their magic energy to build two walls, but the bombs were two close. Not to mention that there were ten bombs, making the impact ten times that of a single bomb.
Both knew it was impossible to completely kill the impact from this distance.
Still, they wanted to do what they could, as people behind them panicked.
Some tried how they could to escape, some did as they were told and laid low as they awaited the impact to come, some stood still, some cried… It was a picture of hell.
“What are the guards doing!? Save us!”
“Stay put! You’re going to step on the people laying low!”
“I don’t want to die! Someone save me!!”
“A vortex of so many people’s fear… Uh… Uu…!”
“Y-Yui! Are you okay!? Hang on!”
Phi and Yui could only look on at this scene of pure despair and fear.
Yui could feel the movements in people’s souls as their hearts raged and almost broke. The swelling negative emotions made her want to throw up.
Phi looked out for the girl falling to the floor, as he felt pathetic over not knowing what to do. But as his voice trembled, a hand roughly pat his head.
“…Phi, look after Yui. Lay as low as you can.”
“Big brother…?”
Yuugo spoke to his little brother from inside Blaster.
Phi saw him look directly at the bombs, and opened his mouth as he felt something.
“Big brother, what are you going to do? Are you…!?”
“Didn’t I promise you I would protect everyone? It’s all right, don’t you trust me!?”
Yuugo smiled from under his helmet, joking to reassure his little brother… And he exhaled.
Phi saw him take off running towards the bombs and yelled.
“Big brother! Big brother!!”
“What is Yuugo doing!?”
Yelled Raiha as Yuugo ran through their walls and towards the bombs.
The magic energy still intensified, and the people predicting the time had come got ready and laid on the floor.
“It’s coming! Everyone brace!!”
“Guh…! Yuugo…!!”
Raiha was concerned about Yuugo, but felt her duty was to maintain the wall.
If she moved, the many people behind her might suffer damage. And so, although she felt bad about doing nothing for Yuugo, she continued pouring magic energy into the wall.
Velda covered Phi and Yui as he went to the floor, and Peewee also poured all her magic energy into her wall. And seconds before the explosion, Yuugo whispered as he faced the bombs.
“Super henshin!!”
Blaster’s form changed as it exuded a crimson light, but the light of the explosion quickly covered it and Yuugo.
Immediately after, the ten bombs exploded, causing vibrations that could be felt outside the hospital.
