About the case of destruction flags being demolished after a nichiasa loving otaku was reincarnated as a villainous student – Chapter 90 – Is that a horse? A skeleton?

“I brought the things! Can I leave it here!?”

“Yes, thank you. Can you take this next?”

“Understood! Leave it to me!”

The next day, Yuugo was working on a farm in the suburbs in Hercus’ place.

He was mostly carrying things and doing some more minute work, but the man who put out the quest was impressed with how quick he was.

“I was surprised when I heard the boy that originally took the quest got hurt, but it’s a good thing we got such a good worker! Once you put that down, come here. We’ll have something to eat and take a break!”

“Yes! Thank you!!”

Yuugo put down the wooden box, and bowed to the farmer.

He thought to himself that no matter what world he was in, that kind of sweaty work felt good. He took a package from the farmer, and opened it to find a sandwich and tea, which he enjoyed while taking in the sight of the plain and the cool breeze.

“This place is nice. The air feels good, and it’s like the perfect place to have a picnic.”

“Hahaha, thanks. A lot of people do come visit this place with their families, and it’s a nice place to spend a day off.”

Yuugo expressed his honest thoughts, as he ate and talked with the farmer.

The weather was good that day, with dazzling sunlight raining down. There were some families having a picnic here and there too.

Yuugo let out a sigh of admiration, as he watched a sight full of nature that was hard for him to come by in his original world, and savored the sandwich under this blue sky.

The wind blowing felt nice and refreshing on his heated body, and he enjoyed this break.

(Classes haven’t started yet, and I’m in the middle of modding Blaster. I get to make some money for that too, but I also needed this refreshing time.)

He accepted the job on Hercus’ behalf, but it was also a nice change of pace, and an opportunity to spend some time in a different environment.

The money he would get from the reward would go to modifying Blaster, so it was not a bad way to spend some free time.

It also felt fresh to spend some days without the magic item he relied on so much.

This job would have been made easier by Blaster, but using that power during his daily life would go against the aesthetic of a hero.

A hero’s power should be for when there was no other option. Using super abilities during his daily life would numb him to that feeling.

There was an orange part-time worker who used the power of a hero transformation during work, but well, that was an exception… Yuugo thought a hero should use his own strength to do things he could do by his own strength. And while thinking about that, he thanked Angel for taking Blaster.

(An and Phi are probably working on improving Blaster right now… I can’t wait to see how it turns out!)

Yuugo was going to stay at the farm and work there for a few days, so he would not be back to the Luminous Academy for a while.

But that also meant there was time to work on Blaster, and surprise him when he got back.

What kind of features would they add? How would the magic item itself be powered up?

With that expectation in his heart, Yuugo was unable to hold back from smiling.

“You’re in a good mood, Yuugo. Did something interesting happen?”

“Ah, no. Not really… Hn?”

Yuugo was embarrassed after the farmer pointed out he was smiling, and was about to give an evasive response. Not being unable to control those emotions was a bad habit of an otaku, he thought as he looked around at the plain. But then he noticed something and frowned.

“Hum, do you see people that don’t look like they’re sightseeing here and there? Kind of dangerous looking…”

“Yes. Oh, they’re guards… And so many. Did something happen?”

There were people among the visitors, who were mostly families, who stood out.

These men all wore the same uniform and stood with overdone postures. And after Yuugo pointed them out, the farmer also said it was strange.

It seemed to be a group of magic knights patrolling that area. But why were they there?

Yuugo felt there were too many to be a simple patrol, and their expressions also seemed tense.

He ate the last bit of the sandwich, with a bad feeling about this situation. And the moment he washed it down with tea, he heard screaming from somewhere far away, followed by what sounded like a rumbling in the ground.

“What!? What happened!!?”

Yuugo was surprised, and turned to where it came from, and what he saw was a cloud of dust, along with something running their way.

The families who saw the thing that created that echoing roaring noise screamed as they ran in panic, and Yuugo strained his eyes to try to get a good look at whatever it was that was running through the grassy field.

It seemed a little bigger than a person, and it was also running too fast to be a person. As he squinted and thought there was a good chance it was a monster armor beast, what he saw left him at a loss for words.

“What is that…!?”

What he saw was a skeleton horse. It still had its mane and tail, but other than that, it was a skeleton that dashed madly through the field.

It left flames behind it through its hooves as it ran, scorching the field of flowers.

Yuugo stood dumbfounded by something he did not expect to be the thing running, and the guards started attacking it, as if they were waiting for it.

Reference time:

The orange part timer talks about Gaim who originally tried to use his driver as something that could be used for a gig. Too bad he is in a Urobutchi story so that aint happening.
