He figured that the guards had probably caught on to the fact that the skeleton horse was not the culprit of the attack on the horses, and took up defensive positions in a hurry.
Surely they had already started to figure out that the skeleton horse was one of the victims of that incident.
In Luminous History, if the skeleton horse was not taken down, it would be discovered that it was very docile, and turned into a normal horse when not under the light of the sun.
Conversely, if the skeleton horse was finished off, the real attackers would assault nearby villages and farms, and the major damage caused would be known a few days later… That was how the story forked.
Basically, if the skeleton horse was defeated while everyone still thought it was the culprit, the guards would assume they had taken out the dangerous monster, and would be late in dealing with the real attacker.
In any case there was very little demerit to the main character in terms of favorability. In fact, it mostly just left a bad aftertaste. But since Isaac cared little for mob characters he did not know, even that bad aftertaste would not manifest itself.

Angel’s favorability would skyrocket. She would take an interest in him, and even speak to him. And then, he would take the reward and use it to make a request for a weapon, deepen their relationship, and use the huge chest hidden under that jumpsuit to perform ‘maintenance’ on his body…
“Dyufuh! Dyufufufufu…!!”
Isaac let out a creepy laugh, not unlike Zenon’s.
He put on the front that was a desire to be a hero, but stayed true to his desires… That was the true, unchanging nature of Usaou Aritou.
He continued to laugh as he indulged in his delusions, but turned his head when he sensed a presence and felt the earth rumbling.
The Bull Golem was finally there… So he grabbed the twin swords on his back, and got ready to fight.

The rumbling that signaled the Bull Golem was approaching… Felt bigger than usual.
It was his first time seeing the monster in that fashion, so he figured maybe it was just in his head.
But Isaac still had a bad feeling about this, and when he got a good look at the approaching monster…

There were three Bull Golems in a line, running towards him.
